  • Legend.

  • Sick. I think they do this once a year at christmas.

  • Was just about to post this one… great value especially coupled with Telstra Thanks tickets and combos as mentioned. Thumbs up!

    • how does this work again with the event gift cards?

      • +3

Access Telstra Thanks to bring up the $11 pricing for tickets. Pay using the gift card (instead of credit card). Win.

Waiting for Amex deal for this……

    • +1

Are they likely to do it again?

      • Also when does this deal expire? Or is there a limit on how many can be purchased?

        • Expiry 15th DEC 2015.
I bought 20 last time and this time.

        • @fz7hny:

I bought 5 last time and rang out too fast, bought 11 this time

      • They normally do it once a year about the same time and you have to purchase by November 7th

      • +1

I'm not sure, but you can always wait until the due day 7 Nov to buy the GC.

        • +1

I still got the one $40 I bought last year for $20 after stacking both deals..

        • +2

@georgedn: It was a great deal (50% off the face value). I finished it long time ago. Remember to use it before the expiry date :)

        • @eleana: definitely! it's in my wallet.. unfortunately having really young kids makes it really hard to get to see movies!

  • +1

Not valid for use in Victoria or Tasmania

    FAIL!

    • Pretty sure there aren't any Event Cinemas in Vic or Tas…

      • I always hope to see an equivalent offer with village in Vic for event offers but am left disappointed :(

  • i read that as "15 december 2014" i thought 'what a rip' lol

not bad deal thanks OP :)

  • any way of getting cheaper tickets - telstra or otherwise - without being a telstra customer?

    • +4

Buy a $2 Telstra SIM, never use it. Boom, you're now technically a Telstra customer with access to $11 tickets.

      • HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW THIS?!

      • I haven't been a Telstra customer for over a year now since I ported my number away from them when my contract ran out. I can still access my account though and the cheap tickets :-)

        • -1

I can still access mine after not renewing my prepaid account for over a year. Give it a try.

        • @treeman: I'm guessing you didn't read what I said properly? :P I said I still have access to the account :)

      • i bought a $2 sim from Dicksmith with free delivery and 50% office

arrived in a massive box with aircushioning inside

basically a $1 item and $10 in delivery and packaging easily

  • nice one. Will definitely be useful for me and my mates

  • Can you use gift cards to purchase Blockbuster / Book of Five Vouchers?

    • Ordered 2, got them last week. Used them this weekend. Bought a book of 10 vouchers.

  • This works out well

  • Australia post also has a deal with movie gift cards till November.

  • +2

    just bought 2 x $30 and thinking I might get another 2

  • +3

I bought 4 $40 cards last time. im on the last one now - great timing!

  • Or $6 tickets when combined with this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/164195

    • unfortunately it seems they are not accepting it anymore…

  • thanks..

Good Deal, i got these last year and will do the same again.

One thing to note though, check the balance of your giftcards once you receive them. I ordered four last time, first one I used was all fine. After a couple of months I went to use the second one and there was no credit on there. No credit on the third one either, with the fourth one being fine. Was a bit of a pain getting it fixed considering it was a few months down the track after buying them that I actually I realized the error (they did fix it all up in the end thankfully)

  • Great deal. I bought 6 which I believe my friends and family will use before the end of next year.

  • i wish Hoyts do something similar. I already have unused Events gift cards from last year about to expire in less than 2 months

  • Annoyingly, the $11 telstra tickets no longer allow Bollywood movies as per the T&Cs. Anyone know cheap ways to catch bolly flicks - don't mind the odd one but don't want to pay full price for it.

    • Bollywood movies should be cheaper…surely they would never sell out?

      • That logic doesn't really make any sense.

        • Okay supply and demand I see what you mean.

  • +1

Wow it's like saying Asian movies never make budget why not make them for $1.

  • Thanks OP! Great deal!

  • +1

Thanks OP! Just bought two =]
Anyone know when they'll deliver it by?

  • Hey guys,

Are these gift cards redeemable immediately after you purchase them, or do you have to wait for it to arrive in the mail?

    • The latter.

  • Cheers bought 11

  • Did anyone receive theirs in the mail?

    • Got mine.

      • haven't got mine yet ordered last week :(

        • I still haven't received mine either :(

  • if each ticket will cost us $11 that means after you buy 3 tickets you'll have $7 left on the card - not enough for a ticket.

Can you then use another card with the $7 card? From the terms and conditions it doesn't look like you can but thought I'd clarify

    • you can pay with the card and pay the rest with CC if you want

    • +1

yes if you have $7 left on one card you can use a second card for the remaining balance.

      • thanks, that was the answer I was after

  • Thanks caved in and decided to get one

  • I missed out on this deal…is there any one who has bought more and wants to sell few cards to me..happy to buy them for $31 each upto 5 cards..sydney cbd.
