NRMA Roadside Care Renewal Gets You a $100 NRMA Online Shop Voucher When You Renew for 3years

130

Although haven't used the road assistance all these years, went to renew it for peace of mind. I was informed that I could get a $100 nrma online shop voucher or $100 entertainment voucher when renewed for 3 years and won't be subject to price increases, so paid around $300 (classic care) and going to get $100 voucher.

Only available over the phone or at store.

  • Would you ever consider buying something from the NRMA shop at inflated prices?

Sure, but the $100 is free.

All you do is pay for 3 years, really an extra 2, you lock in that rate as well. You would have paid it anyway.

Lets do the numbers, you are paying $100 two years early and $100 one year early. If you put that money in the bank you would have got at best (UBank) $8 and $4 respectively or $12 but you would not have got that money now.

Then you would have had to pay tax on that money so you lose $3 to $6 of that. So a net $9 maximum.

So the $100 voucher even if it is only worth $75 or even $50 in the real world is still a good deal. If the price goes up in the meantime you have bagged a real winner. The only downside is if you die but then you have bigger problems.

Well I did it but mine was only $93 or so a year being a Gold member.

Also some things on the NRMA on-line shop are not badly priced actually.

  • NRMA is advertising $60 for 6 months on radio. Allianz is $79 T&C. Wonder if anyone have experience on roadside assist with companies other than NRMA in NSW?

  • oh I would have taken up this offer but already renewed my membership in September :( .On the upside at least I did renew as I used them for a flat tyre just a few days ago.

      Nrma for a flat tyre!!!!!

      LAZY!!!!!

That's just being smart. Why change your own tyres when you've already paid for NRMA roadside service?

  • +1

not sure if my car will last another 3 years longer :P

does deal apply for new sign ups too ?

    • The question would be - will you get any refund if your car is disposed of before the roadside assistance term is completed?

I renewed my NRMA roadside membership (for another 3 years) a few months back. The renewal notice worked out to be $93 per year so I called up NRMA and said "Alliance is $79 can you match that?". The CSR was helpful and said since the renewal had been issued she couldn't change the price but she did add an extra 6 months onto my renewal for free. So works out at $80 per year which was enough for me to stick with NRMA.

  • Thanks Op. I just got an NRMA insurance renewal and it included a voucher for this offer but I would normally have just chucked it without seeing the deal on here.
Anyway renewed the Premium cover for 2 years to get the $100 voucher. The small print says the offer ends on 31/10.
    Cheers
