    Cheapest on StaticIce by $10 and reasonable shipping too. But unfortunately the drives themselves are not excellent value, and 1TB or 1.5TB is far better, unless you want a lot of space on one drive.

      Typical of HDD's $/GB curve. It's the same for most storage mediums, with 1TB being the current sweet-spot for HDDs.

          The 2TB uses an eeny teeny bit more than a single 1TB drive.

          That said, the HDD is generally bugger all in the overall scheme of computer power draw.

    Not the cheapest on StaticIce when you compared all brands (Seagate & WD) 2TB drives. I can't give it a +1 since it's not really a "bargain" but it is the cheapest for anyone specifically wanting the Hitachi brand.

    Not a bad deal, considering if you have limited SATA ports and swapping those portables starts to become tedious. Am tempted to consolidate my portable content into one big mofo HDD.

    MSY now has a Hitachi 2tb for $275. I'm guessing that there are more MSY store fronts than AnyPC to avoid shipping.
