Free - On the House - Crusader: No Remorse

No pity. No mercy. No Remorse.

As a Silencer, one of the elite enforcers of the World Economic Consortium, you're supposed to be incorruptible. But if the system you serve is utterly corrupt, where does that leave you? You go over to the Resistance, the same pack you used to hunt down. Now, your former employers better watch their backs because you're coming after them with all the firepower at your command.

I remember playing this back in the day! Don't remember much about it though. Thanks for posting OP.

I don't remember playing this back in the day as I was too poor to buy it but I do remember when it came out and for a period of time, I knew more about it than my mates as I remembered game reviews too well.

Anyway, due to the power of the internet, time value of money and marketing via freebies, I will now get to experience this game after all these years… but at least now I have the time to play it, I'm making good money and playing this won't affect my ability to progress in life. I had a few bad semesters due to Diablo 2.

Good game, top down shooter and was one of the first games to use FMV well.

Diablo was the game I believe knocked it off the number one spot of the generation.

With all these other older games getting remade etc why the hell has no one tackled the Crusader games? If they do they better do the series justice.

Blame EA. They gutted and destroyed the developer for Crusader when they acquired Origin Systems (not related to EA's Origin digital DRM platform). RIP Origin Systems Inc (OSI)

It would come back as a FPS if it does.

  • Looks so much alike as the star troppers

    • It predates the Star Wars prequels.

  • Such a good game back in 1995, spent days on end playing it. Think I will give it a miss though, I assume it has dated badly after 19 years.

Not as bad as you would think.

Graphic was sprite based so if you kept a CRT somewhere it will look as good as it was nineteen years ago :)
Woudn't look too bad on an LCD I'd imagine.
I'd suggest giving it another run, good stress relief .. blow up everything and everyone, if you wanted to. There were so many death animations and the violence level hasn't been matched by the modern shooter games.
Much better than Crusader No Regrets too, story wise.

  • What is this game similar to?

    • Real time isometric tactical action shooter. Not many games like it out there.

      • Syndicate Wars would give it a run for its money ;)

  • well this takes me all the waaaaaay back

  • thanks really a classic

  • Thanks for the post! Great game, fond memories.
