Just registered a new .com domain with coupon and checked out OK.
Might work with other extensions but only used .com mahself.
Not a bad deal, remember to turn off auto-renewal and transfer it away before the year is up.

  • Once you go godaddy you never go godaddy again.

Whatever you do don't take any of the free additional services, they aren't free in the subsequent years and incredibly difficult to stop from auto renewing.

    • Agreed, definitely a bad idea to go with godaddy.
Try out VentraIP instead, it may not be as cheap but you'll be much happier.

There is a status board for ALL your services with a switch to control each service auto-renew on the site.
I do not think it can get easier than that.
I am not associated with GD but I have over 25 domains and many other services with them and I very rarely had troubles, sorted fast and efficient. I love their online chat support.
That being said I should also say I did not try more than a couple others providers.
Note that after you have a number of services with them it pays to subscribe to their VIP status, as the savings are offsetting the fee.

  • I can confirm that the code still works, thanks.

Godaddy have cleaned up their act with regards to automatically adding on extras, apart from auto renew which they add automatically, its easy to turn off but I think you can only do it after you order the domain, at least that's what happened with some cheap transfers I did over the last few days. I generally take advantage of godaddy's coupons every other year by transferring in and out between them and another provider. It's a pain but generally saves me a bit each year considering I have about 20 domains to keep registered.
