      Agreed, use the forums.

  • +2

This is a GREAT price, cheapest it has been elsewhere was $504 during the ebay sales a while back!

    • +4

Nexus 6 will be priced at around $800 which is $300 more than the G3.

      • agreed it's a bit too steep ill stick with my nexus 5

      • +2

800 plus 20 for shipping from google, no thankyou, this is a good deal however

    • +1

Nexus is no longer cheaply priced.

    • Nexus 6 will be more expensive, and it's a 5.9 inch screen. >5.5 is well into phablet territory.

    • The Nexus 6's size BIGGER than the Galaxy Note 3… It's HUUUUGE. No thanks.

  • Good phone for that price!

In that price range you have the Note 3, S5 if you're lucky.

The QHD screen is somewhat of a let down though.

  • +5

BTW, 2% surcharge for using paypal so ends up around $519

  • Has anyone claimed a price protection from dwi before? Heard of people claiming from kogan, tdimension, mobicity and some others but never dwi.

  • +2

Need deal for Galaxy Note 3 :(. Been waiting for a month now

Comment unpublished, referral or affiliate links? Don't believe it contained either, perhaps a query string or session identifier. Forgive me I'm green; is this something I should strip, is there any chance to revise?

  • Does the code 30OFFPAYPAL work with other stuff?

  • -1

Absolute bargain with these exchange rates. I have been waiting for a deal on this phone, particularly the 3gb ram one. Around the same price as the top of the line Chinese (almost there) phones and a far more polished product. I bought one.

First time I saw Paypal default to try to take the funds directly from my bank account. I changed it back to my card and didn't see the Paypal fee change (which is what I would have insisted on).

  • +1

Tempted. I love the dual windows in the LG G3.

The one feature I would switch from a Nexus device for.

    • 'dual window', like Samsung's Multi-Window.

Pretty much the reason why I am only considering the S5 or the G3 at this stage…

  • Damn bought one a couple of days ago with the free shipping deal from Kogan. Paid $549. Does anyone know if Kogan refunds any difference as the phone hasn't even shipped yet.

  • It s a very good price. I bought G3 for almost same price on ebay sale. I like the phone esp the camera and the knock code. What i dun like abt the phone is the bloatware being too much for my taste. And a few times my phone froze so i had to take out battery out. Not sure if the phone is defective or all G3 are like that. However i disabled animation in developer option and it stopped freezing for now (fingers crossed).

  • Is it worthwhile to upgrade from G2 to G3?
How fast will this be delivered?

    • +1

      Probably not

    • +1

Some would see it as a downgrade. The G3 has worse performance, worse battery life and laggy UI (unless you disable stuff). The QHD screen is overkill on such a small device. I wish more Android phone makers would focus on improving battery life like Sony has been, the Z3C almost gets 10 hours ost, that's more useful than a high res screen that sucks the battery down in a few hours.

      • +3

Horse bikkies … I upgraded from a G2 to a G3 and think its a massive setup up. The speed of the interface is probably the biggest difference. Almost no lag at all. All programs run speedily. The camera on the G2 was great but the G3 was better. Initial battery life wasn't amazing but after about 5 charges it actually lasts a longer time than my G2. Some of the issues with the battery life have been from people who have not given the battery a usual run-in period. And with the 32gb model , there is NO lag. I am just waiting for my Qi charger to arrive and this will be almost perfect. Screen is amazingly sharp.
Definitely NOT a downgrade. But it all comes down to personal needs. Most people, including me, could do very nicely with a G2. I was just lucky enough to get a good deal on a G3.

Oh, and now that there are custom recoveries available you can install custom ROMS as well.

        • +1

That should be STEP UP, not setup :)

        • -1

          @soupratt

          "Almost no lag at all."

          "there is NO lag"

          Which is it?

I'm glad you are happy with yours, and don't notice lag so much. Android lags even on nexus devices such as the nexus 5 that run pure Android have lower requirements with similar speed processors. Hopefully lollipop goes a long way to improving the performance. Can't wait to get it next week, I wonder when the G3 will have it.

      • +5

        Totally agree with this…
All this dumb spec war started by Samsung is killing the entire Android eco system
Next thing you know Samsung CEO will try to out do Apple by announcing that he is 2 times more gay than Tim Cook

  • -5

It adds $6 if you select gold color, and further adds Payment surcharge for PayPal $10.30

    Total: A$525.30 for me

    NOT A BARGAIN!

  • +1

Remember this is the 32GB G3 with 3GB of RAM instead of what Australia offers, which is the 2GB RAM and 16GB storage space. So it's a slightly better phone. Given the price, it's a good bargain.

  • +1

It is a good deal but the store is not great to deal with re: returns. DWI recently sent me a DOA product (Nexus 5) and I had to open a Paypal dispute to resolve the issue. Still outstanding now almost 2 months later. I would avoid dealing with this mob in the rare occurrence that your product is DOA or has some issue that requires warranty.

  • +1

great deal, i upgraded 2 weeks ago to the G3 (from a Nexus 5) for $588 from Kogan.

Phone is great, specs etc everything except the bloatware.. bloatware is on another level, i spent about 4 hours after rooting, just unstalling crap. theres literally like 40+ 'LG' services running

    • +1

Remove the phones response lag when you removed it all?

      • +3

to be honest i didnt notice too much response lag at the beginning, only had it for an hour before i removed all the crap, but yes there was a difference. it was also nicer once i put nova launcher on, felt more stock android.

  • -2

I would've bought the LG G3 if it wasn't for the artificial sharpening they implemented,

  • -1

is there cyanogenmod for the g3?, ive heard the lg skin is very laggy and freezes..

    • Always used Nova so never had any lagging or freezes on my Droids.

    • +1

Well I go zero lag issues on my G3. I disable animation, but I do that on all my droid phones (first thing I do), so I can't tell if it lags without doing that. Its very snappy UI on my 3GB version. Battery life is pretty good too. I'watch 2 episodes of walking dead the other day and it sucked up only 15% battery. I like the QHD screen, it is awesome (compared to my older z1).

LG has some very nice themes for free on LG smart world and they are very light weight. It does get hot playing intensive games, but not hotter than my z1.

  • I've been after a sony z3 and drilling are super cheap, $655 less $30 off coupon. No one else is even close. ($200 cheaper than others)

BUT what are they like warranty wise?

  • I'm doing my best to wait for the SD 810

  • -7

Do not pay more than 300 bucks for droid. Be smart guys … :D

    • That is why we are smart we paid $300 for a droid. All the oranges and grapes can continue to line my pockets :P

    • +2

Pay more than $800 for an iPhone. Be dumb guys …

      • hmmm so if they pay 799 is that reasonable?

        • You do things your way. Let them do things theirs.

      • -4

Hehehehehehe.. Its worth it at least :) peace of mind !

  • Where do you apply the discount code?

  • Also, the price is $519 after discount. Not $509. Tempted. Not sure what to do. Its only 1 year warranty since cannot pay via credit card to get extra year.

    • 1.6% cash rewards to offset that 2% paypal fee so if my maths right its $511. I'm still thinking about getting one too….

edit: seems price went up to $545

  • Can we please expire the deal. The price is not up to $555.

  • They ran out of stock pretty early, pretty sure anyone who purchased after this was posted didn't get their orders shipped (or DWI poorly allocated their stock)

  • Such a fast delivery!
