posting this was a stroke of genius!

    • torque is cheap when it comes to this mower.

I'd check your local aldi store for their mower they have on special with the clearance sale for $229, its a 190cc Brigs and stratton motor, plus it's self propelled!

    • +1 to this…
We bought one of the Aldi self-propelled mowers a year ago and it's a beauty. Briggs & Stratton motor starts first pull every time. Blades still sharp, body and construction seem strong. Easy to clean.

      • these are hard to find. five of the stores (sydney) i checked didn't have any stock.

  • i am actually in the market for a mower, but is this one of those things where down the track, with hindsight, i should have put in more and got a bigger/better branded one?

any reviews on this from anyone?

    • I've read all the reviews on Masters. The consensus is it's good value and easy to start. It does however have a cheap and flimsy catcher. It was also stated that the engine is Briggs and Straton, a reliable brand.

I bought one about 18 months ago.

Engine starts first time, every time. Unfortunately that's where the positives stop.

Blades dull quickly and aren't replaceable, grass gets clogged between blades and catcher, long grass tends to get flattened instead of cut.

Got a new mower a couple weeks back and the difference was amazing.

      • Website for the product says the blades are replaceable

        http://909.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&category_…

I am thinking of getting one myself at this price.

      • I doubt if any mower sold doesn't have replaceable blades. This would need to be the most serviceable part of any mower.

All the rest you mention is a function of the blades. Flattening of grass occurs if the blades are blunt, and the clogging would be due to torn not cut grass (torn as its not cut)

I think you need different mower shop, as they are having you on about the blades not being replaceable

  • Is 118c enough to cut through long grass? I live on a 800m2 block.

    • depends on the type of grass. 118cc can mow thru buffalo like hot knife on butter but for other more hardy grass/weed , you shud be looking something closer to 140cc.

    • Get off your butt and cut it regularly before it gets over 100mm high and then it will be ok.

      • Don't shoot the messenger……

  • Where is this catalog is it online the catalog as can't see this same item on offer from Thursday?how do you know about this.

I covered this in the posting

This is from their latest catalog received today. I saw it at a friends, I don't have a picture to upload.

      Starts Nov 6

But I forgot to include the link to reading glasses :)

  • it's up

I just order one for $116.10 (with the code)

    • Same here.

    • Updated date, thx

  • ordered one as well $116.10 with code for pick up.

  • Thanks, ordered the mower with the code.
The card payment processing (using an ING Visa debit card) took 5-10 minutes to complete with Chrome browser.

  • Ordered one too -$116.10 from Bayswater WA

  • Ordered how I thought it starts on 6th?

  • Some good reviews but also got some issues I need one but wonder if it's a good buy?

  • Seems to be gone from their website…

  • Just picked mine up, all the staff gave me dirty looks especially the manager

    • Jealous?

      • +1

likely. The kept asking me how I got it so cheap. On the shelf it was still listed at $248 on special

  • I just ordered one and applied the PETROL10 coupon. I had one in my cart from last night. Hopefully they honor it. I can't find it on the website.

  • I still have one in my cart but does not allow me to purchase?

  • Was able to place my order also from basket wonder why they have taken off site? It was listed on here as from 6th unless to early let's hope the honor this.

    • I got a tax invoice. Hopefully that's a good sign.

      • I picked it up today without any problems.

  • They must not know the price until they see your order?

  • Got tax invoice also

  • Picked up mine monday.. same price $116.10 with voucher

I too got emailed a tax invoice and when i went to pick it up they thought i worked for woolworths given the 10% discount.

  • We'll have my email to come collect good job I had this in my basket or I may have not got it.

  • Well, it is the 6th. The calalogue is out, but the mower is still removed from the website. Would be nice to get the $25 off 150 online.

Are they all sold out before the sale began?

    • Cost of mower is $129 though…. :P

  • In-Store Only
Otherwise good deal, thats why my +1 :)

    • 6cm smaller, 1 blade not dual, fabric catcher not plastic

      • 2 inches on a mower isn't a deal breaker. 1 blade is cheaper to replace and also easier to sharpen. the catcher only matter if you like to use it. i don't use it as i like to leave the clippings where they are to fertilise.

the closes bunnings is 3 min up the road. the closes masters is 30 min away.

I've used this twice since I've bought it. I live on a 800m2 block so there's lots of lawn to mow. It was long the first time around and this mower handled it easily. The chute did get clogged a few times before the catcher was full. The second time I used it the lawn wasn't as long and the chute worked fine. The catcher is a little flimsy and you need to support it while carrying it or the handle may come off. It's easily put back on though. I'm very happy with my purchase.
