  • I looked last year and was interested but the box was massive and wouldn't fit in my car. Need an SUV with seats that fold down at the back…
My experience with Aldi items has been pretty hit and miss and would also be interested to know if anyone who got it previously still is happy with theirs ?

we got one last year and struggled even in a station wagon ;)
needed to be removed from its box.. Was hilarious watching people buy them and try and fit it into a normal sedan though ;)

ours barely gets used, but its still in one piece, hasn't rusted and sits on our front porch area.. so should be ok (just dont mention to your wife how she never uses it, and we could have bought it this week, saved $50 and still used it about as much ;) )

          no swinging in my bedroom

  • I got one of these a couple of years ago for $250 and it's fine. Granted it doesn't get used all that often, but it's fine.

$199 for that? I will never understand the prices of furniture!

PainToad, you should check out the prices for other egg chairs around, they are usually $500+, then you will be even more confused.

Not saying it isn't a bargain (honestly have no idea), just saying furniture in general seems insanely over priced.

        • Anything that is associated with artistic design is expensive. The ones that are cheaper are mostly imitations.

  • it is actually a good price. but just don't know the quality.

  • Is this the one for kids? I was in Aldi yesterday and saw one like this… or is this the adult version yet to come?

    • Technically if it's an egg, it's for fetuses.

    • This is the adult version, the kids version was a few weeks ago. The one you saw in store was the kids I guess as this one doesnt come one sale till Sat I think.

I bought one for the wife last xmas. i was able to fit it in a commodore sedan but had to take it out of the box. The chair itself, cushions and stand still look new. It is a bit shallow when sitting in it and your head is kinda pushed forward a bit. I have sat in the more expensive ones and they are definately more comfortable…..but…..for $199 its a pretty good price.

    • Exactly my sentiments as well. Good price, but definitely not as comfortable as more expensive chairs.

  • I have bought one last year, cushions are not that good, I have to use two cushions to get enough feel that I am seating on cushions otherwise feels like I am seating on a nest of iron. when I swing left to right it makes a bit of a noise. apart from it, it is still working looks like new, strong chair.

  • 150kg capacity and a 12 month warranty??

    That's pretty good!

I've seen egg chairs at BBQ/Outdoor furniture retailers selling in the $300's and you DONT get a frame (you gotta hang it on pergola or something).

I'll have to go check out the local Aldi (which I'm almost 100% sure they wont have any stock… but worth a shot!).
