    Are they anygood for $30?

I have Foscam FI8918W and they work well

    • I think the DCS-930L and DCS-932L are pretty average. Specs are very much obsolete.

  • Bought the dedicated baby camera during the 15% eBay sale. I highly recommend it.

    • which model number is that, we are looking at getting a good baby monitor with video..

      • Dcs 825. The best feature is camera itself has night vision- just like what the military uses, so LED lIght is not required during the night time.

My DCS-825 has infra-red leds that are needed for night vision. Same as the DCS-932L.

Also, the iphone app is a complete piece of garbage.
Fortunately, since I wrote some horrible reviews, they've now allowed the normal dlink camera app to view the images from the DCS-825.

        • @damion:
What's the normal D Link camera app? Does it work the same? I've got a DCS-825 as well

          @munted:
I use 'mydlink lite' most of the time, because it's so much quicker to load and just display the video feed.
It doesn't support the DCS825-specific features such as music, two-way audio, recording etc. though, so I still have to use the 'mydlink baby' app for those.

@damion: Agree, "mydlink lite" seems to work the best.

The DCS-933L can be bought from COTD for less than 50 delivered. Easy to set up. Can view from your smartphone.

    • The 933 would be the better buy for night vision

How do these compare to Foscam FI8918W?

Plus it looks like the DCS-933L doesn't work on the Survelliance Pro iPhone App

    • I'm trying to find it can you provide a link? thanks

      • Link for the 933?

        • Link to the COTD deal cheers

    • Link for the COTD deal????

    • Maybe the COTD one was this one: http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/event/40245/product/swann-wi…

… looks like the 933L and this Swann unit are similar units?

  • looks like available delivery only around east melbourne area. any free shipping code?

  • I had a DCS-942L stuck in my front window and set it to email me pictures whenever there was motion.

All day long it would email me pictures of my empty front yard but it always seemed to miss the delivery dudes. I think these cameras are only good for indoor use. Good price none the less.

    • Do these cameras (in the OP) email motion detected images?

      • No, they just email a note saying it detected something.
Unfortunately, they are very sensitive and will set off with shadows (can be adjusted, but still an issue), clouds and even changes of lighting. i ended up turning of the motion detection.

      • In the specs it says that they send email alerts, it doesn't specifically say it sends an image with it but since my one did I would assume these do to.

Edit: deal88 provided accurate info above.

  • Do these cameras have an option to save the images/videos?
