  • A friend just alerted me to this deal after picking up $808 ADL>LAX return flights!

    • Which dates was this for?

      • They're gone now; 12/2 - 8/3

  • +1

With the US dollar climbing, guess the wealthy Oz traveller is no more to be found flashing their 28degrees mastercard in Las Vegas.

Less travelling to the US has got to hit the airlines = low fares

    • Yeh, picked up fairs around this price with airNZ a bit back. Was really surprised to see them this low, and there have been a few deals around this price since.

    • It's only really AirNZ though, haven't seen any of the other carriers dropping much lower than $1000, let alone $800.

      • Agree but with AirNZ you have to travel thru some rough Country and that takes time…

    • "flashing their 28degrees mastercard in Las Vegas" - lol…. exactly what I was doing a couple of weeks ago. Exchange rate is definitely shit now.

      • I laughed as well, was doing exactly that a couple of weeks ago as well

  • Cheers buddy.

  • Looking at going end of Sept 15 if there are special for it

  • I heard 28 Degrees aren't doing free ATM withdraws anymore? I think the Citibank (Citibank Plus maybe?) is the new 28 Degrees?

    • They go hand in hand - 28 Degrees in your right hand for credit card payments (95% of all my recent transactions in USA) and Citibank Plus in your left hand for an occasional ATM withdrawal (there's a Citibank on the corner of practically every other block in NYC - but I hardly needed them).

      • Why bother with 28 degrees? The Citibank Plus does credit, the ATM withdrawals are via credit too…

        • Would Citibank be sufficient? I'm heading to the USA in a couple of months and have been wondering what cards I need, as my current AMEX may bring a hefty bill.

Should I grab one of each (28 degrees and Citibank) for credit and debit use or is it overkill?

Any help would be really appreciated.

        • It doesn't hurt to have options, like if you lose a card you have one somewhere else hidden, but when I travel I solely use citibank.
Citibank plus does everything free (if you withdraw from a citi atm you can avoid the local fee too)

      • 28 degrees card is completely redundant now that bankwest gives currency conversion fee-free transactions on their bankwest zero platinum card. why bother dealing with the chumps at GE money when you can deal with the much better bankwest customer team?

  • So in summary both Bankwest (zero) and Citibank (plus) offer both no foreign exchange fees, plus no ATM fees?
with any ATM? or just Citibank? -for which there would be plenty in the US

28 Degrees offer no foreign exchange fees, but now charge for ATM's (but have some price guarantee insurance).

    • Sort of Correct

But Bankwest does change for ATM's OS like all banks if it's not affiliated with them. (and often it's hard to know which are. Technically they don't always charge but the ATM does so effect is same)

Using your credit card (28D or BW) at an ATM is never good idea as its a cash advance and too prone to fees if not carefully managed.

The Citibank card costs nothing to own and can be used at Citibank ATMs OS which are far more prevalent than BankWest

In The USA Citibank ATM"s can be found in nearly all 7/11 Stores
