    Good deal, thanks guy!

  • +2

Great find was holding out to get the Mario kart dlc
    You sir are a legend

    • +2

Was going to buy the DLC too, just haven't gotten around to it yet. This should save me a few bucks & will grab NES Remix 1+2 while I'm at it.

  • 20% off a digital copy of Smash Bros. Count me in! :)

    • can I ask why you prefer digital?

      • +5

More convenient not having to swap discs.

        • +22

but think about the $3 trade-in value at EB!

        • Plus it's being released at 9:30 pm AEST on the 28/11/2014 digitally, as opposed to on the 29/11/2014 in stores (Or midnight if u go to a launch)

        • @mr kindface: I actually just traded in Shadow of Mordor and Destiny for $45.80 a pop at EB. More than what they cost me at launch.

        • @Putnum: that's crazy price that you bought for. Where did you get this?

        • @spawnpoint: All through Dick Smith. They were about $43 each after appropriate discounts.

        • @Putnum: How much extra % trade in did you use? E.g. what was the original trade value

        • @shadowfangz: 50% towards far cry 4. Was an in-store promo for certain stores only but my store still honoured it

      • +2

I don't prefer it for everything, but I know there's no chance I'll want to trade Smash and I'll also earn 10% cash back through the Premium Wii U promotion and get double Club Nintendo points. It's also just kind of convenient to not have to worry about the disc.

    • +5

That's exactly what I'm planning myself, digital copy of smash so I can play it without having to take Bayonetta 2 out of the drive

    • Can someone give me an actual number comparison between digital and physical prices of Smash Brothers with this deal?

      • +10

Assuming that Smash Bros on eShop is $79.95.
If you have 20% off from the eShop cards $63.96.
        - If you also have a premium WiiU $63.96 + $7 credit ($56.96)
If you have 20% off from the eShop cards, which you bought with an ING card $60.76.
        - If you also have a premium WiiU $60.76 + $7 credit ($53.76)

        JB Hi-Fi $69
        - with 20% off coupon $55.20

Cheapest on Ozbargain was the eBay sale on the weekend: $55.16 or $67.86 inc gamecube adaptor

        • -2

Smash and most of the new releases on eShop are $60.

        • +1

          @grayadamson:

Not from what I usually see. They very inflated & are normally $10-20 more than a retail copy. The tradeoff is that you lose out on the retail package in exchange of the convenience not having to swap discs.

        • +3

          @grab_ur_freebies:
Apologies. I was thinking of the 3DS eShop. Completely forgot it was coming for Wii U, too. :-/

        • You can also get 5% off (alternate to ING) if you have access to discounted Everday Wish Cards eg via Entertainment Book. You can purchase EB Games or Westfield gift cards at Woolworths using an Everday Wish Card.

    • +1

I wish my Wii U didn't have atrociously small storage. I'm going to have to delete something/buy an external to even install the physical copy of Smash Bros :(

      • Wait the physical copies need HD space as well? :/

Is this the save file or something else?

        • Some games require space for game data and updates.

      • Dicksmith always have 2TB externals on special.

      • I'm going to use a sandisk 32gb sd in a card reader. SD works fine for 3ds so it should work just the same for a wii u, and if anything goes wrong I can just redownload the game :).

        • In a card reader? They don't support use of the internal SD card slot to store game data?

        • @Agret:

No they don't, not for downloaded game data :( .

  • Does anyone of a site to check eShop prices online or the actual website to access the store on PC?

    • http://nintendo.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_3DS_eShop_games_(North_America) (note may be different to our region pricing)

http://www.nintendo.com/games/game-guide (click the game for the price)

    • +1

Nope, not for the Australian store. Have to check on the console itself.

  • That will save the laser in the Wii U, surely Smash Brothers wont come out of the drive for a while, however it is a 16 gig download.

    • 17.2gb actually

  • +1

Can I use these eShop cards to buy the streetpass bundle game?

    • Yes I believe so! Once you claim the cards it just appears as money in your eShop account

    • Besides the street pass games which I believe is $15 for the bundle, what else is worth buying for a 3ds?

      • +2

StreetPass games are terrific entertainment value at their bundle price.

Usually the trending game of the time, especially if you are planning on making the most of StreetPass hits for enabled games -

        Which was/is roughly:
        Animal Crossing: New Leaf
        Pokemon X/Y
        Super Smash Bros (current)
        Pokemon (next one)

        • Thanks but not really what I meant to ask. What else on the eshop is worth buying?

        • Probably some of the classic games.

I haven't purchased anything aside from StreetPass games + Smash Bros (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/162373 for $35.20) yet.

        • +1

          @leonheart1:
          Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies
          Shantae Pirates Curse.

        • @leonheart1: Mario 3D Land if you don't have it. I'd take that over New Super Mario Bros 2 personally, although that wasn't bad either.

Zelda Link Between Worlds was fun too.

I assume they're all on the eShop.

        • Thanks for the suggestions. I'll probably only grab the streetpass bundle and SMT IV as mentioned below since physical copies don't exist for them and they are exclusive to the 3DS.

      • +3

Shovel Knight. Awesome new game, with a "retro" 8-bit feel like DuckTales/Mega Man.

  • +6

Don't forget 10% back in points on games and content downloaded for Wii U premium deluxe owners.

[NOTE] The deadline for earning points in the Deluxe Digital Promotion is December 31, 2014. Only eligible purchases or eligible download codes used in Nintendo eShop for Wii U before December 31, 2014 will qualify for this promotion. The deadline to exchange your points for an activation code is March 31, 2015.

    • More information for people unfamiliar with this?

      • Can be found at this website - https://p.nintendo.net/premium/

      • +1

If you own the Wii U premium (black) console you receive points on every purchase through the Nintendo eShop. You earn 7 points for every dollar spent (excluding GST). Once 500 points have been collected, these can be redeemed for $7 on the Nintendo eShop.

  • Missed the part in the email about the limit of 5, right at bottom of email.
Would these count towards EB World points?

    • +1

      Yes, they count towards points

  • +1

oh YES! i've been waiting for these to be on discount for FOREVER!

  • +5

Any restrictions with using ebgames gift cards to purchase these cards.
Buy a WISH card at 5% off and use it to buy ebgames gift card at woolies. Total of ~25% off.

    • +10

This type of maths is always entertaining.

    • Do you have to do anything to get the 5% off Wish card or just buy it and discount applied?

      • +1

You need to purchase the WISH card through a program that gives you the 5% discount. Using the Entertainment Book is one option, there are a couple of others.

  • How much were these cards before the discount?

    • +20

The value without the discount. Hope you find this answer helpful.

  • Or ING paywave for 5% off

    • Do EB stores generally have paypass facilities? Last time I bought something, Blacktown only had chip readers so I couldn't get a further ING dicount :(

      • Some do, but I find most don't.

  • hnnnng… mario kart 8 dlc is $16.

  • The eshop credit in your account, does it have expiry date?

    • +1

No, once it's claimed it stays there indefinitely

  • +13

Here are some 3DS games on the eshop at their CURRENT price:

    Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D - $13.00
Nintendo Pocket Football Club - $19.50
Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D - $26.00
Shin Megami Tensei IV - $26.00
Ace Arroney: Dual Destinies - $39.95
    Ultimate NES Remix - $49.95
Animal Crossing: New Leaf - $59.95
    Bravely Default - $59.95
    Fantasy Life - $59.95
    Kirby: Triple Deluxe - $59.95
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds - $59.95

    Tomodachi Life - $59.95
Kid Icarus Uprising - $69.95 (pukes)

    • +1

You might have better luck combining JBs NOW 20% off voucher if you haven't used it yet (if it's still going) as most of their listed prices are $49. But bringing the $60 of them down to ~$48 is decent pricing.

    • Thanks. Always wondered what their prices were and couldn't view them since I don't have a 3DS. Will probably only grab SMT IV since it's exclusive to the 3DS and physical copies don't exist for PAL.

    • Thanks for that price list! Can anyone tell me the current price for Mario Kart 7 and New Super Mario Bros 2 on the Nintendo AU 3DS eshop (if they're even available..)?

  • Heck yeah!

  • +1

Anybody else like I did buy a whole heap at the 10% off at Big W Weekend sales lol. Looks like I have to get some more lol.

    • +4

I still have some from back when DSE was selling them at 75% off their value in 2011 when the 3DS was doing terribly. ;)

      • +2

Wow, that would have been good to get some then.

  • Is Donkey Kong tropical freeze still on discount on the e-shop. I think it was 30-40%?

    • Nope. Only two random games are on sale (as listed under the 'Special Offers' tab).

    • +2

      Finished last week.
*For 3DS - you had to buy at least 1 of the 3 re-releases of Donkey Kong Land (GBC - virtual console) to get 33% off Donkey Kong Country Returns (full retail game).
*For Wii U - you had to buy at least 1 of the 3 re-releases of Donkey Kong Country (SNES - virtual console) to get 33% off Donkey Kong - Tropical Freeze. (full retail game).

  • It should say: just under 2 weeks, or 12 days. It's more accurate than "just over a week"

  • You could buy two $60 cards which will cost $96 and you will have 120 to spend so this is quite good you could buy about 4-5 games.

    • Quite good.

  • It is quite good. I'm going to load up 300 buck worth of $60 x 5 cards next week. Should be a cracking spree.

    • Quite good.

  • Anyone know the Smash Brothers release price at BigW or similar?

    • I think around $58, cheaper physically…

  • ok well the bargain is tabled to start next week, however it appears EB stores are honouring the discount now. I bought a $60 nshop card for $48 today (Sunday)

    • Did you ask for it or did it scan up at that price?

    • +1

Must be some stores only, my local did not do it as it still scanned at the normal price.

  • Would it be cheaper to buy super mario bro's 2 in the eshop or at a retail shop

    • -1

I'm assuming you mean New Super Mario Bros 2, I only had a quick search but it's $47 at EB Games compared to $69.95 ($55.96 with 20% off) on eShop.

If you did mean Super Mario Bros 2 it's $6.50 on eShop ($5.20 with 20% off)

      • you can't buy SMB2 in a retailer, of course he means NSMB2

  • They didn't do it earlier for me… just picked up 5 $60 cards.

  • -8

Who the @#$% pays $69.95 for a DS game???

    $20 max

    • Invalid neg vote. Reported. Go away, you are adding nothing to this deal post.

  • Noob question from someone who just purchased a Wii U (I have a Wii board). I've never used eNintendo before.

Would this http://wiifitu.nintendo.com/free-trial/ apply to Australian residents, or just the USA? Im keen on upgrading to the Wii Fit U, but cheapest I can find is $60+ on eBay for Retail version + Wii Fit Meter.

    • +2

I think that trial was available in Australia but it's expired now anyway. It says it ran from Nov 2013 to Jan 2014.

      • ahh okay, sorry missed the date error. Thanks for the reply.

    • you can buy a pre-owned copy from EB Games, I bought one last week and it looked like it was new. Check your local store(s) and have a look at the Wii Fit U they have in stock. (I can't believe I'm suggesting going to EB to buy something).

  • I regret buying a Wii U, the eShop games are ridiculously over priced. even old classics like Donkey Kong Country for SNES is like $10.50

    • Or $1.95 if you had it on Wii… which I did.

I'd say regardless that's still infinitely better then 99% of the indie stuff on the other consoles anyway, which cost more…

      • +2

your cheaper price is due to you paying for it for a second time.
