      Thanks daydream. Added to description.

  • what's the price break down for each? (if you were to buy in store)

    • +1

from memory: tv alone is $599 while new release 360 arcade is $298

  • is this online only ?

    • +1

just called a couple stores, it in store as well and started today. Stores i called had 10 each.

  • btw xbox live silver is free, and doesn't allow any actual live gameplay. You need to pay an extra $50 for an xbox gold subscription (just so everyone is aware)

    • you don't need to pay if you only play single player games, which is what I like about xbox 360.

buy a couple of jRPGs on there, and you've just wasted a lot of hours of your life on the cheap :)

      • true, i just wanted to make clear that xbox live silver isn't anything special, so if you wanted to play online you would have to fork out money for the hrd drive + live.

    • All new 360 consoles comes with 3 x 1 months Gold subs. When you create a new Gamertag (Microsoft's term for an account or a profile) via the console, you get the first month of Gold free. And you can do this up to three times.

  • I cant get any info from there web site about this, when does it start?

  • oh wow this is pretty good

    • ok, does anyone know what the sanyo panel is like (clear, colour quality etc)? is it a good quality brand compared to the leading brands?

  • how mcuh would you get the arcde for if you sold it on ebay ?

can you get a better 22inch tv for $599-xbox price ?

    • +3

      In short. No.

You certainly can get a bigger and better quality LCD SCREEN with that money ($300). However, it will not be a TV like this Sanyo.

Things LCD screens typically don't have that this LCD TV do have:

Tuner (digital HD in this case)
      Teletext
Speakers (some LCDs do have them)
      Sleep timer
Various inputs - composite, component and audio (so you can plug in your DVD player, PS2 and whatnot)

And a new xbox arcade would probably get you $250 on ebay.

you can get VIVO 81cm (32") High Definition LCD TV $598. 22" sanyo for $599 is a rip off so throwing in a free xbox makes it ok value for money in my opinion, not really a great bargain.

  • That's AWESOME value and fairly easy to walk into a DSE. Instant win and a great bargain.

There are people in wheelchairs who can't do that you know… be nice man..

      (Joking! :)

      • LOL :)
Yeah, quit bragging about your walking abilities!

  • i wonder if this arcade version of the xbox 360 is non-hdmi ?

could be the older ones without HDMI

    • AFAIK only the Elite(black) version is HDMI. Correct me if I'm wrong. Personally I think this isn't a bad deal. Good setup for say a bedroom.

      • Both the arcade/pro models got upgraded to HDMI a while back. I doubt there is much of the old stock laying around with no HDMI. You can always check the box (or ask the salesman) before you buy.

If you don't need it to watch TV, you are better off buying something like the benq E2200HD and an xbox bundle.

E2200HD has inbuilt speakers (probably as bad as the ones in the sanyo) BUT its fullhd 1920x1080. It also has HDMI w/ sound. $215 from MSY and a bunch of other places.

Big W has an upcoming sale, xbox360 ELITE with Call of Duty: World at War AND Halo3 ODST for $398

Look at the second set of pages:

    http://catalogues.bigw.com.au/portal/dynamiccatalogue?catalo…

    $398 + $215 = $613

    Positives
    + FullHD
+ Elite Console has 120gb HDD (Arcade only has 256mb)
    + 2 Free games

    Negatives
    - No tv tuner

You could also find a cheap set top box with DVI/VGA to use on of the other ports on the monitor.

There's no way an arcade console is worth $298 when you can get that elite deal for $100 more ;)

    • I agree, you could even sell one of the games and probably get enough for a TV Tuner.

I don't think this is that great of a deal at all. Much better to get a 22 1080P LCD and the XBOX ELITE and its just normal pricing.

      • Yeah but what about for people who want a TV?

        • I just don't see how all of these 22" LCD tvs are worth $599. They're all basically sub-$200 computer monitors (1366x768 res ones) with a TV tuner/inbuilt speakers. The extra electronics would be worth less than $100 so essentially you are paying $300 for the xbox anyway.

The deal isn't half bad if you want a TV. I just think the whole idea of 22" LCD tv's being that price as a rip-off.

    • Much better deal. Could even go for a 24" 1080p LCD and it would cost about $650 together.

Sure, no TV tuner, but you can pick up a DVB-T USB card for ~$12 and stream it to your Xbox 360 with Media Center (then you can watch live TV, schedule recordings - all through the 360). Not to mention you're getting the Elite console with 2x Halo games..

This is actually a pretty poor deal, imo anyway. The DIY way is much better, in terms of quality and value.

Grab a $2 (or free) HDMI->DVI cable and you're set!

  • Nothing worth watching on Free to Air anyway.
