    16g only 178…..
    hmmm tempted…

  • This looks like good value for a medium quality tablet with a screen this size

I've had the Nexus 7 2013 model for at least 12 months and do not consider it "medium quality" as you say…

High quality would be more fitting.

Whilst the hardware isn't as up to spec as say a Samsung Galaxy Tab S, considering the software experience on both, I'd say they are on par. Yes I've used both.

The only thing I could complain about with the n7 is that it's a bit small (I got it for free), still a great tablet though. A very good performer on stock android 4.4.4, soon to be on 5.x

Im still using a 3g 2012 and I'd say its high quality too, I never get slowdown or lag and use it mainly for watching videos on the net while traveling. The battery life is amazing.

I agree with you, just not wanting to raise the ire of those who might be only accepting the latest Samsung or iPad as the "only" option when buying a new tablet

Not much but don't forget the 2.6% cashback

  • Not bad, and the LTE version is only 300+delivery

      $310

      • Woops, thanks for that!

Good buying, the Nexus 7 will be getting the upgrade to Lollipop too! This beats the Nexus 9 on value any day at under half the price

    • +4

The Nexus 7 2013 already has the Lollipop update for select devices (WIFI models only?). I sideloaded mine with Lollipop OTA yesterday and it is working perfectly.

  • Cheers OP. 1 Christmas pressie ordered :)

A bit allergic to anything second hand except for one night stand

      But this is brand new?

    • +15

Well by the sounds of it at least you're in 'Brand New: Never Used' condition

Similar to the Expansys deal a short while ago. The Nexus 7 2013 is still a reasonable tablet. Remember they don't take a microSD card, so the 32GB model may be better than the 16GB in the long term. If you want Aussie Asus warranty or to claim GST you will need to check with Expansys about whether these are shipping from their Australian warehouse or not. Last time they were shipping from Hong Kong so offered neither GST nor Asus Australia wty.

    • Exactly the same deal… I posted it when it dropped to this price a month ago and it got removed as a duplicate.

With all these nexus 7 deals of late I'd like to share my experience with cases, tried a few of them and the best seems to be the poetic slimline , Google It. Best fitting for me, the quality is noticeably better than others, I bought mine on eBay from a Australian seller, genuine one not fake. USA sellers sell them too however the price is more expensive after shipping costs and shipping takes longer.
Good luck in your guys case hunting !

  • These are great tablets!

I'm torn between this and the Samsung Tab 8.9 (Price matched at OW for twice the price)
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/169745

Also, don't forget that these support USB OTG.

  • Do they plan to update this tablet to a 2014 or 2015 edition? It's a bit long in the tooth right now.

    • No they won't. They already released nexus 8 which is a 8 inch tablet tho

        *9….8.9" made by HTC

I want a modern specced 7" tablet. Any suggestions?

Would prefer something without massive bezels like the Nexus.

I was hoping they would refresh the Nexus 7 with a 2560x1600 screen and Snapdragon 805, but with Tab S thin bezels, for $300. But I guess that's asking a bit much…

  • I'm so tempted, but I really want a 10"+ tablet…

    • Hold out for a 10", I got the note 8,regretted it…

      • +2

10" tablet is getting into convertible territory. Surface Pro 3 is a top tablet and capable laptop. With the current sale at HN, they are priced ok but it depends on what you are looking for :)

  • Combine it with a zagg auto flex keyboard and a Bluetooth mouse and you have an awesome little 2 in 1. It's pretty much all I use now.

Thats what im talking about. Andro price should be 200-300 like this… No more than that , not worth more than 300! Sweet ! Bought one !

  • 32gb wifi sold out?! Click on the links said product doesn't exist…

    • Damn, looks like they've sold out already. FWIW, there are a couple of different models still in stock:

  • I bought a gpad from expansys, good product and quick delivery. However, just find out whether the charger is Aus spec or not. Otherwise you end up with different pins and a cheap adapter.

Not a huge issue if you a few chargers spare, but better to know where you stand.

    Damn, sold out…

  • Thanks!

Bought a 16GB WiFi for dad for Christmas! Hope he likes it (he's an iPhone user.. For now).

  • Anyone got lollipop on theirs yet?

    • yes got it in mine, its great.
