    • Same

      • Same same

    • Same. How do you get this to work?

  • No need lic. Quite good. No glare day and night.

  • Like most of the free app, this one is also free, with ads.

  • +2

Sorry you might need to install appgratis and download it using that app

    • +3

I used to use appgratis. The offered apps said free for today, it really free for today ONLY. It had full functionality for that day. The next morning, it was back to the restricted version. I uninstalled it.

  • +1

    Full version removes ads apparently

try key in 'appgratis' as promotion code to unlock full version

Just on a side note, the whole red/yellow point of flux is that red wavelength doesn't impair your night vision as that range of the spectrum doesn't affect your cones.

    • +8

It's not so much about not impairing your night vision, as it is tricking the brain into thinking you are seeing sunset, which triggers the start of your sleep pattern. Seeing a blue screen tricks the brain into thinking you are seeing midday, which does the opposite.

  • Hmm I wonder if there is such an app for a computer, not just phone/tablet.

    • +7

Maybe you should just get flux for your PC?

      f.lux

  • can't seem to find a place to put any code at all…………….

after installing appgratis doesn't appear to be the deal of the day either

  • My version tells me to download Task Manager to get the functions of pro free until Dec 31 2014

    • I got full version free with appgratis. I get message to use Task Manager as my security app & CleanMaster may forcibly turn this app off.

  • Lacking instructions, have to purchase full version?

      Installed appgratis, then Bluelight.
Pop up stated I had pro version thanks to appgratis.

    • +1

i installed appgratis then blu light app and i was automativly given pro.

I use an app called Twilight to do it, it's completely free.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.urbandroid…

    • +4

Vouch for Twilight, the brightness/backlight filter works wonders for when I have a migraine. Much like f.lux, Twilight can be set to run at certain times, automatically starting at x and ending at y.

    • +7

Looks good. Installed twilight, Uninstall bluelight and appgratis.

      Revoke my plus

      • Can't undo my plus. Make that 2 less +, so 31 not 33 with 2 -

    • +1

Was just about to say this. It is amazingly good.

I use something different to you guys, it's easy. You don't need to download anything, you don't need any codes or other apps to unlock the full version it's just there and works, everyday and every night!

It's called Brightness and can be found in your Settings ;-)

      • Have you tried a colour change app?
I was doubtful, but noticed the difference over reduced brightness. I like Bluelight. Seems easier on the eyes for reading text. Time will tell.

        • +1

Okay, I'll give it a shot. No I haven't tried one. Might try bluelight, or twilight seems to be popular too.

    • Lux is also good

  • +2

    Installed appgratis, then Bluelight.
Pop up stated I had pro version thanks to appgratis.
    No ads.

Google Play states appgratis promotion is reserved for first time users only. That means once you install this app, you can't go back to get free full version by installing appgratis.

I'll reserve my judgement until after I use it for a while. Seems ok.

    • Confirmed that if you uninstall Bluelight, install appgratis, then install Bluelight again then you will not have the pro version. Stuck on Free.

  • this was free on appoftheday earlier this week..

  • Need to install appgratis first then install bluelight filter, it will unlock the premium feature. nego for lacking instructions, if you installed the bluelight filter first you will never get it free…

    must install appgratis first.
  • +2

Got mine on 12-Nov-2014 with "appoftheday" redeem code. Still works on my android. Now showing $0.99.

  • Stuck on the free version now.
    Bugger.

  • It still works, install 'appgratis' first, then install 'bluelight for eyecare'

  • Interesting concept

  • "Doesn't make the screen so yellow, unlike f.lux for windows."

Just out of interest since you bought it up: I always adjust f.lux so whites are percieved as white (set your desktop colour to white for example) - you can hold a piece of white paper or tile or whatever over half the screen to better evaluate this. It does mean you don't lose much brightness often but I believe how you percieve it is as a result of the inside light quality anyway.

As for this app I have never tried it however I use and have read repeatedly that the paid app Lux is a very good Android application for this issue. For me the sleep claims have always seemed bogus but I seem to avoid any eyestrain headaches which if you had you'll know is a good idea. ;)

  • Down side of using this and it seems other screen filters - can't INSTALL apps!

    See androidforums
"Any screen dimmer app interferes with the install button"

Just means turning off when installing apps.

Overall I prefer the screen filter for viewing text.
