[POLL] Which one are you? Morning shower vs Evening/Night shower

Just wondering how many people take a shower at night? I am usually a morning person but I want to try the nightly showers but I am worried if i will have bad B.O. in the morning if i go without shower. Would you guys help me decide which category do you guys fall in?

Whats use of collecting shower data now? Some collected age data, some salary, some language…and now shower….

I am sorry :/, my curiosity got the best of me.

oh nooo!!! I've been busted.. because apparently finding out how people take shower will help the national security..

Actually I have been a OB user for a while, but I created an account so I could ask this question and post deals.

@drprox: I couldn't agree more drprox. Who knows what sadistic malevolent cause we're all unknowingly contributing to. Shame on you anonymous01, FOR SHAME!

Ignore Mr NSA over here, spoken like a true 28 year old middle income Spanish once-a-day showerer.

    • that was my age one. I have sinister plans with the data.

    • I'll be starting a vote on how many times we all go to the loo.

Do you have sex in the morning or at night?

  • +5

both. how can you go to work not fresh? how can you sleep not fresh?

are you also debating whether to clean your teeth in the morning or at night? :)

    • +11

We are ozbargainers! we save water! (and water bills)

      • +2

well if you are trying to save, water the bushes instead of using the toilet :)

      • +8

Pretty sure deodorant is more expensive then a shower

    • +2

You obviously dont have kids. Can you imagine showering/bathing kids twice a day!

      • +1

All 5 kids here have showers in the morning and before bed?

        • +4

          Water companies would love you

        • I've only 2 kids, but twice a day - never miss it.

    • +1

Everyone I know over 25 who bushes teeth morning and night has fillings. Yet one 30 year old guy, who's only ever brushed once in the morning, has no fillings!

      • +2

        Sounds scientific.

So…he just puts up with the holes in his teeth? Or does he no longer have teeth?

      • Not true. I only shower in the morning (ie- only brush in the morning too). Last visit to the doctor, managed to get 3 fillings in the space of one year. Have learnt my lesson. Although i wish your theory was right.

      • +3

Your sample size is way to small to be conclusive.

    • if you sleep in crap then I understand that you must have a shower in the morning as you will stink.

    • +2

Twice a day? That's awful for your skin.

  • +6

    I shower in the morning.

If I lie down after a shower, I have to at least wash my hair before I go anywhere, or it sticks up in every direction.

    • +3

Then you'll save money on hair products like wax and gel.

    • +1

      Glad you said hair, lol

  • +2

Once in the morning, once at night. I wash my hair at night. Morning showers are more like 2 mins quick rinse and I keep my night shower no longer than 5 minutes.

  • +3

My overflowing gutters when it rains provide me with enough water for a decent shower.

  • +9

    Morning
I couldn't go out in public without a shower first - but I could go to bed without one.

    • -8

you must be sleeping on very dirty bed linen if you don't shower before bed… yuck!

  • +2

I shower in the morning before work, and shower in the evening if I go to the gym after work- can't go to bed dirty. So my morning shower is a quick rince, and in the evening is a deep clean.

    • +1

      How deep?
BTW I also do what you do, not deep clean though, I'd call it 'thorough'.

    • +1

and I believe it's not "rince"… I call it "rinse"

      • +2

You can't start a sentence without a capital or the word and. You didn't use a full stop at the end either.

  • +25

I'm confused. Not showering at night is a thing? You go to bed after sweating during the hottest part of the day, gym, sport, putting sunscreen on, etc etc?

    • +15

Evening shower is a must… sleeping dirty.. no thanks.

    • +6

I reckon! You collect a lot of dirt after a full day then when you just wake up in the morning. I think the morning shower is more for the bad hair when you wake up, but the night one is more important for your personal hygiene.

      • +5

I shower at night and just put my head under the detachable shower head in the morning for the bed hair.

  • +40

Every Friday. I hate going through the w/e social events with BO.

    • +12

I would hate to meet you on a Thursday night.

  • +5

Both. The one in the morning is a proper shower, where I use the loofah to scrub every single inch of my skin and I use cold water (as cold as I can stand ). Its invigorating…and then I lather myself in body lotion before getting dressed:)
At night, its a quick body wash.Actually not even a body wash : I mostly just stand under the jet, letting the warm water wash away all the stress and tension of the day.

Edit: …and I used to do a shower visualisation every day when I was pregnant. Does that count?:p My favorite place to do it was on the train on my way to and from work. I usually put my sunnies and earphones on so that I won't be disturbed. The script goes like this:

Imagine stepping into your shower. But know this time, the shower is magical. The water comes out at the perfect temperature. Just stand there and feel the warm water run over you. Keep your breathing relaxed, so it’s nice and deep and slow…
The warm water has now washed away all stress and all tension. Look down to your feet, and see all of your tension and stress simply be washed away…
And now the water starts to change color. Firstly, the water turns into a beautiful vibrant red. The red water pours down and energizes you, right to your core. Just stand there a moment and feel yourself infused with the beautiful vibrant red. Now feel this color washing away all of your fears. Without any resistance, they are simply washed down the drain and taken away, it’s that easy. Release your fears to the warm red water. And you are now free from fear…
After a moment, the water starts to change color again, and this time, it becomes a brilliant shade of orange. Orange opens you to experience joy and allows you to release shame and guilt. Feel the orange wash over you. Feel the orange color wash through you, washing away all that no longer serves, making more space for joy…
And then the water becomes a bright shade of yellow. Feel the yellow water cleanse emotional pain. Realize that some things are out of your control and you can best handle them when you are calm and collected. Feel your body strengthen and become more secure. Yellow clears the mind and invigorates the digestive system. Take a nice deep breath and feel the clarity within…
Now the water turns to a brilliant shade of green – balancing and restoring the physical body. Green purifies the whole system, renewing your expression of love and forgiveness. Just as you love – you are loved. Feel the green water open your heart to all the love you deserve. Know that you are connected to all…
Then the water changes to a beautiful, cooling, magical blue. This blue enhances self-expression, allowing you to speak your truth, the universal truth. Feel the blue all around you, allowing you to express yourself, according to your true-self. Tilt your head back so that the blue water falls right on your throat. Let the warm water relax all the muscles of your neck. Breathe in and out freely…
The water changes color again. It now changes to a color containing indigo and purple. Feel it land on your crown and wash all over you. Indigo and purple stimulates your own healing power and wisdom.Feel the calming influence of the velvet dark colors of indigo and purple…
And finally, the water turns to a brilliant glowing white light. Feel it embrace you, warm and pure. This heavenly white takes away any pain and heals any hurt. It shows you the peace and joy within your own spirit. Take this moment to enjoy the white light that surrounds you, that fills you, that holds you secure…
Enjoy how you feel. Enjoy being yourself. Know that you are perfect. And as you bathe in the white light, know that you are now cleansed inside and out, in body, mind and spirit. You are standing in peace and harmony, with yourself and the world, both physical and spiritual…
So appreciate the last bit of this magical color shower. Take a few refreshing breaths before you turn off the taps and step out of the shower…
As you towel yourself dry in your imagination – feel your body. Feel that your muscles are relaxed. Feel that your energy has been revitalized. Feel that your spirits are fresh, your mind is clear, and you are looking forward to what is to come…
Become conscious of your breath, and you have now been cleansed and invigorated. Wriggle your toes, wriggle your fingers. Adjust your position and slowly open your eyes…

    And welcome back:)

    • That was beautiful!

  • I'm a true OzBargainer and only shower when there's an actual shower/rain (free water).

  • +2

Evening because I need to sleep on my hair at least once for it to look decent.

    • You're not alone.

  • I prefer night showers but with summer hitting us sometimes I'll be a little lazy and jump into the pool for a chlorine rinse then shower in the morning. Especially if I've been for a run.

  • I used to take cold showers in the morning because the gas tank broke. Got so used to taking ice cold showers, but now I can't stand it anymore

  • +1

    Cold showers, Twice a day.

If you're ever travelling and there's shared showers, always shower at night. No one else seems to use them at night but there's always a queue in the mornings. Caravan parks, cheap hotels etc.

  • Late start then shower in the day, early start then I shower the night before.

  • +1

wow thanks for your response guys, I am surprised the majority is morning showers.

  • +9

I am amazed with the number of people who don't shower before going to bed. Where did you go the whole day? How often do you wash your bedding then,?

    • Ewwww gross!

    • +1

      bedding… hmm once a month?

  • +3

    Both!
One in the morning after jogging.
One also in the evening - how can you go to bed with gel in your head, greasy face on the pillow in summer(gives me zits), and only being toilet paper wiped down there. My bed would turn yellow/smell in 3 months and not look attractive for guests in a studio apartment.

    • +7

      Don't change your sheets?

  • Morning, warm then blistering cold to finish off the last 2-3 minutes and as a free stimulant. If you don't shower in the morning you'll still have all your bed juices on you and sweat.

    • +2

      Bed juices?

      • +2

… is what trendy bedbugs drink

  • Interesting subject!!
Night shower + quick hair wash if i need to work and my hair looks crazy..
I have no idea how can a person go to bed without a shower, unless it's winter and you stay at home all day or something else.

You spend about a third of your life on your bed and you don't keep it "clean"???

  • -2

Please take a shower daily specially in mornings. At nights be my guest and save water, if you prefer sleeping dirty, your personal decision.
There are a few people I know who don't know what is water or maybe they save it very hard. But they spend the damn money for smoking and alcohol, what a smell. One I bet didn't use water for a nice 25 years!
you don't know what's the feeling when he is around with same clothes on always.

  • Both. I get free cold and hot water. So I dont really care lol

As a true Ozbargainer I shower in the morning at work (cycling to the office).

    • Got any bargains on Lamasil Once for foot fungus?

  • Morning. No soap (except armpits) or shampoo. If I was to get dirty or sweaty then I'd shower again at night.

  • +5

I'll just leave this here for anyone suggesting that only bathing once a day is 'unclean':

    http://health.howstuffworks.com/skin-care/daily/tips/daily-s…

  • Mostly Morning shower only, and if going out later or been running etc I'll have another, but otherwise there is no need for a night shower as you sweat while sleeping anyway.

  • Missus says "NO MORE SHOWERS" in the morning as it is bad for my back, skin and health.
Have no idea if it is true or not…

    • Chinese? Seems it's common among Asians to have night showers. I remember all my white friends in primary school used to shower in the morning and I asked my mum if I could shower in the morning instead as well but she didn't let me :(

    • Not true, but truly stupid.

      • Agreed. Yes asian.

  • when it rains only, so i gotta always check the weather patterns.

otherwise night time is a must after a dirty day!

  • -1

How about showering when it rains?

    • assumed that you do it in NT -Top End , that should be fine. No factory and less population here, you know…..

Please keep showering every morning! Night showers are good also to relax or wash away after a busy day.

  • I shower every morning of the year, sometimes shower at night as well.

Mostly shower at night during cold winters and hot summers.

  • +3

Yuck, who goes to bed without a shower?? That's gross….

What do you people do during the night that you need to shower in the morning if you showered before you went to bed??

    • Your first sentence, i couldn't agree more!!!

So, i will upvote you from -1 :)

Regarding the second part, i guess some people have extremely, i mean extremely bad body odour so they just have to shower before they head out or during night time they are doing dirty things and getting physical, lol. You know what i mean~~~…

      • it's a dirty dirty dirty dirty bed

Where is the "none" option ? : P

    • +6

I didn't include it on purpose. People would've abused it for the fun of it.

  • +4

Do you piss in your shower ?

    • Yes
    • No
    • I even shit
    • Haha, me yes. I think that's a instinct or reflex or something else. Not sure what's the right word for it.

I saw a video about pissing in shower, for the reason behind this is simply because when we were little, parents tend to make a similar sound to make us piss faster or easier. Which that sound is very close to the sound we hear when we are having a shower… :)

    • It's all pipes!

      (not rly)

  • +1

Going to bed with out showering is dirty!!! :p
