50

So I got one the other day and free shipping, the thing is great keeps surprising me what I can do with it!

Harvey Norman also has the same version around the same price with included cover keyboard BUT I am not sure whether they have stock as before getting this 256 version I ordered the 64gb version from harvey and they were all out of stock, then took another 4 days for them to refund my money…

  • Does this price include the keyboard? If it is, then it is good price as my colleague paid $1600+ last Dec for one.

    • no keyboard unfortunately but I think is still a cheap price, cheapest after this is Kogan for 960+, but estore is aussie stock not grey import (although not sure if Kogan is the same). I also had it delivered free within 2 days.

  • tony, how do you keep your donkey so tight?

end of life product. Get the surface pro 3

    • No it's a different product. The surface 3 does not replace 2 it is the bigger screened brother.

Same way the iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S are different products i guess…

        • Can't tell which way you are looking at this… Many would say there is very little difference between the 5s and 6 and many would prefer to pay half the cost of the iphone 6 and get the more compact smaller screened 5s…
If the 5S was the price it should be now that 6 is out at 400-500 then it would make it a serious option when compared to the iphone 6 at 1000…

Again can't tell what stance you are taking as I could argue either side quite easily… using iPhone as example was prob not the best choice.

SP3 suffers from thermal throttling problems, and as a result is less powerful than the SP2.

If you intend to use the SP as a productivity device and not as a tablet (i.e. the target audience) then most people would want the SP2 over the SP.

I don't have either but given the choice the SP2 is better for my needs than the SP3.

          @c0balt:

Except that's not even close to true. Isolated overheating with the i7 models that got blown massively out of proportion by internet groupthink.

The SP3 is better than the sp2 in every single way.

Source: I own both. And, I guess, Ars agrees with me.

        • @jjcf:

Well if you are happy to pay double the price for the latest one go ahead. I personally dont like the new screen size and personally would rather pay 899 than 1300+ for the surface pro 3… oh wait you want the i7? make that 1500+…

    • Am actually if you read up many are saying stick to the surface pro 2 for gaming and graphic intense programs… and I don't feel like paying double the price for a surface pro 3…

I am running photoshop, indesign, far cry 2, need for speed shift all high or ultra settings, guild wars 2 etc… lets say I want to do anything more powerful than this, I start up my dedicated gaming desktop which cost less than the surface pro 3 and it runs everything currently out maxed at 60fps…
