    Hey Rep, it's still expensive… If you could offer us some better price that would be great.

      I can try and ask for a coupon, but I can't say for sure if the discount is possible. It's a new product.

    • +2

      Sorry, but I get the news that the shop can't provide any coupon for this product, cause the price was set by manufacturer for the launch and it's not allowed to lower it. Maybe when time passes it can go lower.

    Not a bargain. Note the price is USD.

    DealsMachine sells an identical pack for $142.29 (AUD)

    Even Expansys sells it cheaper than you at $169.99 (AUD)

    • The link you provided leads to an old version! Please read carefully the post, before giving a negative vote, it's "Plus" model. I highligted the improvements:
      - 1Gbit LAN;
      - 802.11ac 2.4G/5.0G Wi-Fi;
      - 4K H.265/HEVC Hardware Decoding;
      - Android 4.4 installed from the factory
      This version was released only today and is hard to find in other shops yet. And the gifts are not the same. Here you'll get a USB hub, SD card and OTG adapter also. Not for a big sum, but still…

        This version was released only today and is hard to find in other shops yet.

        So how do we know if this is a bargain?

        This is an announcement that you're selling a new product, not a deal.

    • Hi, can you please write a peronal message to me. I can pass you a coupon there, cause I'm not allowed to post any coupons here, as I wrote a bit higher, the manufacturer controls the pricing and no shop is allowed to provide coupons in the announcement of this item.

  • Now that the Amazon Fire TV box is out I'm at a loss as to why anyone would buy one of these… and I have one myself!

    XBMC

    • RaspPi for $40-$50 works great for XBMC (and I have a full media PC with XBMC to compare it to). When I tried it about a year ago it was very slow but now it is great. Very close to the PC experience.

    • I have XBMC running smoothly on my Amazon Fire TV.
      +Much faster than OpenElec running on the Dual Core gbox MX2
      +Faster and better than stock Quad Core M8

      These new devices coming out of China are fantastic, unfortunately they require community support to get them working optimally. Having experience with different devices and seeing this unit is new to market, it may be the case that stock firmware/roms need work to get working right. If the community support is present and ROMS are available, devices perform extremely well.

      are there a devs working on roms for this unit?

  • Keep in mind that it's hdmi 1.4

    As far as I can tell, Geekbuying is currently the exclusive distributor of the updated model. http://promotion.geekbuying.com/promotion/minix_neo_x8-h_plu… This means that there are no other prices to compare it to.

    This is a product launch post at best.

    Not a bargain. Reported as spam.

      Sorry, but I wasn't fully aware that it's not allowed to post here the products at launch. It seems I saw earlier some other Chinese shops promoting their products, too. So I decided this item can be posted.
      Please, exuse me! I'm really sorry that I broke the rules. And please, don't give the bad attitude to the shop itself! I only help posting deals and promote items from time to time on different forums, where posts from representatives are allowed, this rules breaking is fully my personal guilt.
