  • SYD->ADL return for $429 is a bargain?

    You could do Syd->Manila, Syd->AUK, Syd->Fiji and almost Syd->Hawaii for that price based on recent bargains

    • I haven't looked to see what the prices are for that route at the time concerned. However, it's not valid to say that it is not a good fare (on that route at the time) based on comparison to specials on other routes at other times, especially considering that the Cricket World Cup will likely cause higher fares to be charged due to a short term high demand.

  • Lol $429 carn OP I can get it from Tiger for $100

    • +1

      and risk missing the game?

      • +1

        They're fine. Plus they'll put you on Virgin if they cancel your flight and can't get you another.

    • "Lol $429 carn OP I can get it from Tiger for $100"

      I just checked Tiger for 15/02 Syd to Adelaide. Base fare without luggage or charges =$269 (one way).

      You claim $100 return with Tiger. I say bullsh*t unless you detail the booking details.

      • Figure of speech- you can obviously get it cheaper through various channels though

        • -2

          Figure of something, that's for sure. It just annoys me how often people here make claims that something is not a good deal but don't support that with fact.

          I'd like to hear an example of a channel through which you can get a better deal in this particular example case.

          I am not sure which source would provide you 15 Feb 2015 ticket before cricket match starts and depart next day morning without wasting much of a time for $429.. Could check and let us know?

          @jdr:
          Cheaper than the OP's $429?
          Any airline's direct website!

  • +3

    You could do Syd->Manila, Syd->AUK, Syd->Fiji and almost Syd->Hawaii for that price based on recent bargains

    But you won't be able to witness the battle on the cricket pitch

  • i think all the tickets for seats at the game have sold out, no point in flying, if you can't get seats to the game

    • unless you want to take a punt and deal with a turd scalper.

    • The tickets sold out in less than 3 days. I don't think Adelaidians are yet to comprehend that apart from the members the remainder of the crowd will be very animated Indians and Pakistanis.

    Not seeing it as a bargain OP…

  • +1

    Fly from$429* return from Sydney to Adelaide

    Is that FIRST CLASS ???, if not, this is NOT a bargain…

    • -3

      Support that with fact please. What deal did you find that is better?

      • +5

        How about the OP who posted this show us how $429 to Adelaide is a bargain?

        $429 to Adelaide is ridiculous and obviously there is some profiteering happening here because of the cricket…

        Just because someone increases the normal price because the flights are getting booked out, does not make it a bargain.

        Look at the prices before and after this date to see what is should cost…

        • And Tiger is charging $269 one way for their most basic fare on 15/02. That's what happens when a demand spike is there, suddenly you get a price spike to match.

          The prices before and after are not relevant, you know that.

  • Opened an account yesterday to post this crap AD… Can't we call this advertising or SPAM ?
    Clearly double the normal price…

    • Support that with fact please. What deal did you find that is better?

      • +2
        • The timing of flights you have seen on so called example website is after Cricket match …Cricket match starts in the afternoon.. so no point reaching there in evening..

        • @traveltraders:

          14 - 17th Feb

          Link 1 - $318 - 1 Stop…

          Link 2 - $316 - 1 Stop…

          Not as cheap as I thought it would be… revoked my neg !

          @buzzlight9:

          I came back to also point out that your example was invalid due to the arrival time. But I look forward to your example if traveltraders gives you the deal details.

        • @jdr: Updated…

        • -1

          @buzzlight9:

          Why always returning on the 17th?. Were these the dates matching the OP's offer?

        • @jdr: Why are you not talking about OPs offer or telling us the exact dates and time ? why are you not +ve voting this deal if you think it is soo good… ? LOL

        • @buzzlight9:

          Never said it was good. I just don't like all the knockers who neg or say that it is not deal without supporting that with evidence that is relevant to the circumstances of the original offer.

          You don't know what dates he is offering but you keep coming back with offers that you claim to be better.

        • The offer was for 15 Feb 15 Morning flight from SYD to ADL before 11 am arrival in Adelaide so fans can watch the live match. and return was for 16 Feb 15 morning flight at 10 am so fans do not waste much of a time in Adelaide and can start working again by afternoon on 16 Feb… I hope none of the offers you were pointing out would have this price…

        • @traveltraders & @jdr: You really think people would spend "FROM $429*" for 1 day… ? LOL

          You don't know what dates he is offering but you keep coming back with offers that you claim to be better.

          Well we do and those dates are expensive, as a smart traveller lets try +/- 3 days to get the cheapest price. The links provided aren't claims they are facts which are nothing but cheaper options…

          No one in their right mind would/should pay close to $500 for a SYD/ADL flight in February.

          So to end this pointless debate, I agree with many that this is nothing but a fanatic price for fanatics…, NOT A BARGAIN according to me.

        • @buzzlight9: well…SMATER TRAVELLERS who ever looks for +/- 3 days will also have to pay for Hotels to stay those many nights… So i don't really think it would be Smarter option to stay more in Adelaide then necessary.. Keeping that in mind that most accommodations are also booked out or selling on higher prices…

        • -1

          @traveltraders: OK lets do a QUICK search for Flights + Hotel…

          Expedia - FROM $427*

          *Many more choices…

  • +1

    only the hardcore fanatics that will buy at this price

  • +2

    Out of stock? More like out of excuses.

  • +2

    I think it'll be just cheaper to stream the match online with the free scotch I got from Dan Murphy….. Ozb style. :)
