  • Are Pioneer decks any good? I've got a Sony, but I'm looking to upgrade to one with Iphone connectivity.

    • I've only ever used pioneer head units. They are a decent brand for budget to midrange sound systems. Other brands offer better high-end audiophile gear but I would definitely rate Pioneer above Sony.

On the website, does the price include the 30% off already? because in store the prices are much higher. i.e the $188 head unit is listed as $279

        $188 -> $131.60

Buy Online Price $188 (third down on the left)

So looks like its online price -30% :)

Actually, just noticed the banner at the top has in small red writing "Take 30% off prices below"

        • Thanks, thats what I thought too. It seems like a pretty good deal. I was told in store that the $188 (pioneer 2150) was a pricing error by head office - don't know if its really true though. Still listed as $279 with 30% off instore.

          Price comparison:
          $131.60 @ JB
          $299 @ supercheap auto
          $250 @ repco
          $190ish + delivery on ebay

  • I bought a BT MEX Sony a few years ago and it's been fantastic , but yep pioneer is better bang for buck . If your buying a new deck pay the extra and get one with bluetooth . So cool having a built in hands free and being able to stream to your deck from your phone . You don't even have to take the phone out of your pocket when you get in the car . Can't believe all decks are not bluetooth now days .

  • Just rang JB Hifi, as you said the price is much higher in store :o

Been trying to order this one online, but the price still shows $287 at checkout :( Not sure how to get the 30% off online.

Because they're out of stock maybe? Was hoping i could still order it at this price and wait.

    • You should get them to match the online price. I went to the store and purchased the pioneer headunit and speakers listed on their website. $132($188) for headunit and $87($124) for speakers.

      • I tried to, but they wouldn't.

        This was JB-Hifi Elizabeth (SA)

Were only willing to do 30% off the prices listed in store.

        • JB-Hifi Elizabeth (SA) is the worst JB Hi Fi in Adelaide metropolitan area IMHO.
A few months ago i tried to buy a plazma from them.
What they were saying was just rediculous (i got my tv from Myer then).
Next time try their City or Gepps Cross stores, they are much better and follow the avertised prices.

        • I went to the marion store today and got myself the 1150 model headunit for only $107.8 extracting 30% of the catalogue special $154.

  • Bought the AVIC-F900BT today for $1212, price in store was $1999 told the sales guy it was $1732 on the website and he quickly checked and I got 30% off $1732.
no problems at all with matching the price.

  • Wondering how much it cost for these units to put in your car or you guys DIY?

    • i check with JB HiFi. for the haeadunit only installation they quoted $80 (probably depends on the model of the car).
i may wnat to check if some audio places can do it cheaper. for a professional it should be a 15 minutes job.
