NSW DISABILITY ITEMS FOR GRANDPARENTS?

Hi all,

Looking at getting new disabled items such as toilets, rails, shower etc for injured family member.

Where can i source items that are of quality prefer to some standards but are cheaper? Need these items for gramps as due to age.

Primarily after toilet/shower/railings/handles all those kind of items.

Any help be appreciated

  • Your local sale sites, gumtree, all classifieds etc have them often as the oldies don't need them for that long.

  • I have used these folk for medical supplies - not the type of thing you're looking for so I don't know how they are on prices for those. I find them very helpful in explaining the different products and options over the phone too.

They are based in Petrh so you'd need to factor in P&P.

Try your local council… They might be able to help, they sometimes have grants.

As others have said try gumtree etc and if you are handy with a drill you can install them yourself.

You can sometimes buy/rent off the hospital.

When my dad became disabled we got in touch with aged care services/ occupational therapist at our local hospital. They helped us organise all the home modifications, railings, shower chairs, walkers etc. Maybe you can try your local hospital for assistance.

    • I agree, go through care services/ occupational therapist at our local hospital. They have the contacts and forms/referrals.
Local council will also have help as well.

  • Thanks all for the info!

  • I've used these guys - ilsau.com.au - and they've been amazing. Huge range of items, you can either hire or buy, next day delivery, great service.

    Good luck!
