Cathay Pacific only has direct flights from Australia to Hong Kong so all of their fares stop there. It's not a bad place for a few days stopover though if you're interested in breaking up the trip. Only South African Airways and Qantas have direct flights from Australia to South Africa and they charge accordingly given the lack of competition.

Not really a bargain - we paid the same price for a flight landing in Syndey today and leaving again in Feb… Or maybe that was a bargain as well. :)
