    Had a quick flurry of emails with the online team. They said they just received a pallet full of cameras which they will be dispatching today and tomorrow morning. Hopefully all of us get our cameras by Friday. Fingers crossed

        Multiple cameras as relos also want. I ordered on the day this deal was published. Only shipping partial to me and not the whole order so they can allocate the stock to satisfy orders from people who purchased after me isn't very fair.

        • Lol people who ordered after me negging. As much as I want to use this camera this weekend for fireworks I'm gonna have to give it to relo instead for fear of him thinking ill of me for taking the first one. So those who neg me, please tell me, how is it fair when I was one of the first ones who paid yet I'll have to wait for perhaps another fortnight from now, disrupting my cash flow?

    Startrack is ripping through the delivery. It's onboard with driver for delivery today in Sydney. Now that's speed

    • Yeah mine is in Melbourne processing after being only sent yesterday, very quick so far hopefully it arrives today.

          My order would have arrived today but the wife just missed it by 15 mins, so hopefully get it tomorrow.

        • @Ranekor: No it doesn't, apparently I didn't complete my online order properly so it didn't register on their systems so it doesn't show up on the website. It did however charge me for the camera.

          Probably someone smarter than me can explain but I just don't see how they can take my money and say my order was not complete.

          Sounds like trying to cover their own behind, blaming weather and systems fault.

        • @jpwwong: same thing happened to me. I had to make a new order but just not pay for it. then they matched up the payment with the order. I've ordered from this site before so I only noticed cos it wasn't appearing under my order history.
          I think there must have been a glitch early on when they were putting this deal up which caused this because I went through all the steps.

        • @cyrax83: Thanks to my wife, I managed to get it yesterday!

          The guy was trying to tell her that I won't receive it until Monday even though the email said it was going to be delivered tomorrow or Thursday.

          She even had a hard time picking it up. But at least I finally have my camera.

          Unfortunately I bricked one of my Panasonic lenses (100-300mm) trying to do an update through the camera (the connection was accidentally broken between the camera and the computer). sigh

          Body firmware update won't affect the lens. However, you can update the lens through the body. Pana and Oly have got joint firmware update setup on their updater utility.

        • @cyrax83: I tried to update both the body and the lens. Seems to be a common issue.

          The firmware that came with the camera body was sadly only v1.2. The latest is 2.2. Version 2.0+ has some very cool updates and is highly recommended. I think I did an update for the 12-40mm pro lens as well.

          I'd suggest doing the update and just walk away from the computer until it says OK on the screen of the camera. Don't touch anything!

          Updated body firmware, all ok here. I did hear some horror stories so read all the instructions carefully. Haven't bothered updating the lens yet

        • @cyrax83: Good to hear! I try to only update firmware when there is a fix/enhancement that I want. The Panasonic lens update was going improve video performance which I was looking forward to.

  • I got the wrong colour one. Just remind you all to make a call to check the colour if you ordered a silver one before dispatching. I am very angry at their unfriendly customer service. I can be definitely sure I tick the box of the silver one at order. After discussing with customer service, they insist that it's not their system bug. Is it our fault? They will not compensate for the postage for exchange. Let you guys know and I still struggle to find a solution.

  • Noticed a couple of hot pixels on my images. The inbuilt pixel mapper fixed that right up.

    I do have one tiny green stuck pixel that is only the rear LCD screen (not on images) in the left mid, doesn't bother me enough to do something about it though

    I was promised that my camera is all packed up and ready to go and would be shipped out yesterday or today but still have had no communication from store.

    Its is an awesome deal but a very stressful buying experience from GGCW to say the least. I have ordered a silver kit too but reading others experience not sure what I would get. All emails since morning to confirm the kit colour have been unanswered.

    Need camera NOW for a weekend function :(

          They just replied saying warehouse has physically out the goods but it has not been updated on the system. Tracking numbers will be updated tonight as per their response. Also, confirmed they have dispatched silver kit. So let's wait and watch, noting more we can do

          How did they confirm the color? I e-mailed them beforehand making it clear it's silver I want. Parcel came. Invoice lists silver, I was relieved. Opened box.. Umm black. If all they simply did to confirm was look at your order colour and nothing else, don't have your hopes up too high.

          We have confirmed that yes you have definitely received the silver.
          Interestingly we went through every single order after we became aware of this there is only seven of over 400 orders with people had actually chosen the colour of silver.
          Out of that 400 only 62 with actually chosen black everybody else has omitted to select that colour at all.
          Quite interesting when some people have not chosen the colour of the camera but having fact chosen the colour of some of the lenses that they have ordered at the same point in time there were both available in silver and black would appear that this is just a simple oversight in most cases

        • @poop: Hi, i just recieved an updated tracking number and looks like the kit was picked up from Cannington at 4PM AEST.

          I you still haven't received the tracking advice I would suggest you keep hammering the online team, if no luck you call up the store

          I believe most people did select a color, but the system didn't register. I tested it out previously as my order didn't state a color even though I ticked silver so I tried placing different colours in a cart as a mock experiment. The system didn't differentiate the different colours and listed them as the same item. I then tried it on mobile and the diff colours were listed as separate items in the cart. After this I became concerned and e-mailed them, making it very clear I wanted silver and letting them know of this problem. I haven't checked if it's fixed.

        • @tikei: I got an email confirmation saying "Payment has been received and applied, silver unit has been allocated to you." the day after I ordered it. I not only ticked the box but also when ordering asked for a silver kit in the comments section. I hope it arrives in silver.

  • out of curiosity, for those that have had their orders shipped, what time did you order on the day the deal was posted?

  • Guess i'm not getting mine this weekend. Ordered 2 hours after deal was posted.

    Unfortunately the delivery that we expected on 5 December had not arrived we expected this to arrive on the eighth which did not happen having then communicated with Olympus we have discovered that they have sent the entire bulk shipment by road transport which has added another 5 to 7 days to the entire delivery process we do expect this delivery to arrive Friday the 12th to Monday the 15th goods will then be dispatched via immediate overnight priority delivery so we would expect the delivery to you in the 15th or 16th of December providing we have no further delays due to transport companies

    • Bad luck. It seems like they are blaming everything from suppliers to transport companies to weather, but themselves.

      Really badly handled process.

      Here's my drama with the transport company:
      Mine was sent overnight on Tuesday and my wife just missed the deliver by 15 minutes on Wednesday AND due to Star Track's incompetence I still do not have the camera! 2 days after the initial delivery attempt. Supposedly it will be here Monday now, not happy at all with their service.

      I understand why they removed the express off their name. hahahah

    It's been a stressful shopping experience but I do feel pity for the store getting all these bad rap. I guess if it's Olympus delivering the cameras with delay then they can't do much about it. The thing they can do is provide better communication and improve their online shopping system.
    Would I shop with them again? Only if they're much cheaper than other retailers, or if they resolve my wrong-colored camera in an efficient and satisfactory way.

    • Agree with you 100%. I'll continue to support them, because they offer great deals and are an aussie bricks and mortar store. But they are leaving much to be desired on the communication front. Especially raising customers hopes of delivery and giving conflicting information. We do have to commend them for upgrading delivery to priority 1 overnight service and I do hope they sort our the colour issues for you guys. IMO though, stick with the black! :P good luck guys.

      I just got this response for a status update request I sent earlier today;

      "You will receive the delivery of this order before the end of this week guaranteed it all a matter of how many orders we can physically receiving and wish about the same day 18 hour shifts at present we will expect you have this most likely Wednesday or Thursday you will receive and email with full tracking details immediately the goods are dispatched"

        • @Rufoz: got the email then checked in the my account and it's gone from shipping slip printed to track your consignment. Its still early in Perth..so hopefully you'll have yours before they close today! I think they're open til about 8 or 830 EST. Hope yours is shipped out today too!!
