Sydney to Manila $143 Return with Cebu Pacific. Travel: 01/06/15 - 30/11/15 Sale Ends 30/11/14

270

It's on again! This time they extended the travel period til 30 November 2015. I could've saved >$200 on my return trip in October ozbargain sigh :/ No refunds or cancellations of course

Anyways $143 is for no checked in baggage nor meals. Add for the following:
* $26 for meals (not recommended, just eat at the airport or bring your own)
* $50 for 15kg
* $70 for 20kg

Also, remove the automatically applied seat selection as it's an extra $18. You can always pick your own seat for free when you web check in or at the airport.

Another thing, the domestic flights are on promo too. You can find plenty of 1PHP domestic flights to destinations like Caticlan (Boracay, 1PHP is only for the flight there, >1000PHP for the flight back) or Puerto Princesa (Palawan, 1PHP available on both flights!). Edit: I just booked 2x domestic flights to Puerto Princesa for just over $100AUD. They automatically apply travel insurance on the domestic flights, so make sure to cancel it by pressing on "No thanks" and then "Cancel" and not "OK".

Other international flights in and out of Manila are very cheap too for that period. Might be a cheaper option for those wanting to go different countries.

    Massive note of warning for those wanting to do an international flight after this -
    These flights are almost always delayed and the transfer desk is incredibly incompetent and can take up to an hour to process crap. Make sure you have ample time to do your transfer

  • These flights are almost always delayed and the transfer desk is incredibly incompetent and can take up to an hour to process crap

    I'm sure there will be people willing to take the risks for the price. But make sure customers demand free meal and accommodation for significant delay for more than 3 hours and 6 hours (I think). I have a doubt though that this airline has the capacity and goodwill to provide those :) lol

    I think this airlines' delayed and nasty customer service are nothing compared to the Flying Beast M's sins! Here is the real story:

    Flying Beast M (Flying Beast + a neighboring country's local airline entity), which is now bankrupt (some have tried to resuscitate), is inhumane I would say. It advertises a very very low price and even with free return flight and people are willingly book up to 3 months in advance and pay in full of course.

    To the surprise of millions of (candidate) passengers, within one week to 3 days before the actual departing flight, the flight is either cancelled or unilaterally moved to a new date and time. If people are unwilling to take new itinerary they can opt for refund. They have been doing this for approximately 2-3 years perhaps longer. The local authority offers little, if any, customer protection.

    Imagine how much interest income this criminals earns for taking, say, $50, for an average holding time of 30 days? Even this free but 'illegal' interest income can't save the ailing airline. Serve you right, Flying Beast M!

    I traveled with Cebu Pacific to Hong Kong through Manila transit, bought tickets separately $142+(~$97)=$239 return and no issue fortunately

    1235H Sydney -> 1730H Manila (*arrived 1810H delay, ran to transfer desk aprx. 50 mins before departure… staff really helpful did all the works for me, stayed inside & don't need to go out & in the immigration)
    1910H Manila -> 2110H HongKong

    1930H HongKong -> 2130H Manila (*arrived 2205H delay, but still have plenty of time, no staff at transfer desk this time, need to go out & in the immigration, free wifi at airport and lots of places to shopping and eat is great… and the staff waive the travel tax as i just showed her my previous boarding pass and tell her im just transit and no staff at transfer desk)
    0015H Manila -> 1105H Sydney

    Check in is ridiculously expensive as is the food.

    I thought Scoot was expensive at $13.

    • Check in is expensive? Whatever do you mean?

    I flew from Syd to Manila return a few months ago. Great experience. Flights on time. Whole row of seats free too.

    • As of today I can confirm that maybe a fifth of passengers are getting whole rows to themselves (including myself each way). It's a shame people need to walk through the aisles since I'd love poke out my feet.

  • A review of this flight is in today (29/11) Sydney Morning Herald and I assume The Age also, in the travel section.

  • Just a confirmation:

    Leg room truly is ample for the average passenger despite the numbers on paper. The chairs are really thin so expect even more leg room than most other budget airlines. However, the seats are a bit narrow for wide people or elbow rest hoggers (like myself).

    The full meals are expensive but completely unnecessary. You can buy a tuna roll on board for $2.10 (80 PHP). The only catch is that coming from Sydney without Pesos will costs you (they normally round UP to the nearest dollar so they might charge you $3 for a tuna roll before giving you change - again badly not in your favour - so you lose twice (and have thus paid like $3.50 instead of $2.10).

  • Trying to work out the cheapest way to get from manila to siem reap or krabi/Phuket, I'm planning on splitting 3 weeks between Thailand & Cambodia.

    • Great choice of destinations. Been to both and loved them, but don't forget that the Philippines is also amazing in places such as Palawan and Boracay.

  • Great deal if following on to another destination. (I didn't enjoy the phillipines. 4 flights we too with them were all on time.

    At this price, buy yourself another seat But The plane was empty there and back when we flew so you could take the punt.

    I'm bigger then average and the seats were fine.

    Also +1 to buying food on board. Massive cup noodles and snacks are cheap. I saw them handing out cup noodles when the flights were delayed. no vouchers

  • I've just got back from 2 weeks in the Philippines and would fly Cebu Pacific again. My SYD-MNL was on time and I had a row to myself. The service was incredible!

    The return flight MNL-SYD was delayed 1 hour and 15 mins, but the staff communicated this every 15 minutes so everyone knew what was going on. The only complaint I had was the check in time took 45 mins because they only had 3 staff doing check in while I watched 2 managers lean against the back wall playing on their phones for 45 mins. It was very obvious one was on Facebook and the other something like Candy Crush, so this was disappointing and I felt bad for their frontline staff to have this kind of 'support'. Needless to say, there was plenty of time to spare to get to the flight any way.

    If you are visiting, get straight out of Manila. There's very little that would make you want to return (Greenbelt Malls are nice, but they're just big malls). Go see the country, visit the islands and enjoy the natural beauty.

  • How do you join CEB Club? seems members get the cheap flights, after getting a return flight in June July of 2015 thanks y'all
