Thanks Trent86. I was looking at it for a while, waiting for the price to go down. I didn't want to spend more than $200 so this is perfect. Once again, thank you.

  • fwiw this is an awesome speaker for the price

  • Was cheaper last Weekend up until Tues Night $199.20 but for 5bucks more who can complain

  • Nice find bought one, I have been waiting for the price to come down.

BTW, $15 off for every $75 spent on small electrical,
the discount will be applied on checked out, it wasn't obvious.

  • I've been thinking about buying the soundlink mini for a while now. How does this compare to the soundlink colour?

    • I own the mini and love it. Tried the colour in an Apple Store and found it not as good. Though a store isn't an ideal place to listen to it.

  • Argh what do i choose? this one or the Sony SRSX5B with smaller bonus one, the sony has full 2.1, not passive radiators….HELP

    • I was looking at the Sony unit as well, and from the reviews on Amazon, the Sony sounds very good at low volume and when plugged in.

Sound quality dropped at high volume or when runs on battery!

Whereas the Bose Mini sounds good all round, prices are almost the same at the moment, the Sony is ~$5 cheaper. I went with the Bose Mini because sound quality is very important for me.

      • LOL just got home from Myer, got the Sony, with the bonus smaller set bargain at $199

      • Plus the http://www.sony.com.au/product/srs-x5 has actuial 2.1, the bose has only radiator..

        • Plus … the X5 can be left in standby mode (on AC) so it's always ready to play when it detects an audio stream.

The Bose will auto rurn off if no BT activity after a set amout of time? I know the X3 had a 15min auto shut off feature which resulted in me upgrading to the X5 instead.

        • @deltakilo: The x2 that comes with it was a nice bonus too

  • What should I get? Soundlink Mini, Sony X5, or the Soundblaster Roar (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/171767)??

    • Get the soundlink mini it's amazing!

    • The roar has better sound quality and at 150 is far and away a better deal than the Bose. The only thing the sound link mini has going for it is the bloated bass but if you like that kind of thing go for it.

      • The roar doesn't sound better in this video and the bass is pathetic
        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgafB0z9wuM

        • Read the uploaders own comments and full review. He reviewed the old version which is without the terabass function. Roar has balanced sound versus bose bloated bass and poor mids. With sbx eq tweaks it sounds better than the bose.

Roar uses aptx codecs and lets you charge your device and a ton of other features. The only advantage the bose has is the bass and small form factor. For a modern Bluetooth speaker the bose is outdated.

        • @bangmango:
Nah trust me you actually need to own one and you will realise how good it is, and it looks and sounds better than that Roar and is built extremely well for outdoors

        • @TRENT86:
I had my heart set on the bose for a year. I kknow what it sounds like. If I wanted big bass at the expense of sound quality i'd get the bose. The roar has the sound clarity and enough bass for all types of music. Add the feature list and price point into the equation and the roar represents far better value for money

        • @bangmango: LOL Anyway

        • @TRENT86:
Like I said if nothing else matters but doof doof then get the bose. Bare in mind you're paying a lot more for arguably less.

        • @bangmango: Yeah im just lol at us

  • Went to pick it up at Myer, got home and found out that it has the US' power adapter, with the two straight flat pins! wt.

Couldn't have imagined how small it was, but it sounds great.

Oops, my bad it has another the compartment with all the power adapters, including AU's.

    • Did the same when i got mine from JB price match from previous deal Myer $199 opened box and went oh no!Wrong power plug all good though after looking further in the box, briliant sound :)
