  • Question for the store rep - I'm interested in starting out with Z-wave by buying a couple of in-wall light switches, but is it going to be easy to get an electrician to install? Will any random electrician be able to install these, or do I need to find a 'Z-wave-literate' electrician?

    Thanks for any info.

    • Question for the store rep

Store Rep posted and logged off straight away… Don't hold your breath.

    • In wall switches - yes you would need an electrician and yes most should be able to install but best to ask them first…. Maybe download the instructions and give them to them to see if they would be ok with them…. Me, I'd start with a kit with a couple of those extension lead things. If you have ceiling lights you may be able to plug the transformer into them yourself…..

    • The electrical install is easy, just follow the diagram. No electrician will know how to configure the software for you though.

  • yOU HAVE INTERESTING SITE. Not sure if we would need to employ an electrician for some of these products?

  • sorry ah. you beat me to the question. and perhaps we can get an understanding as to why this zzz'd be important for us?

  • i have just started reading about HA. (so anyone who know more please comment)
so firstly you need to make sure you have neutral wire to all your wall switches. if not the electrician needs to do more

ask the electrician you will call about this , do they know how to install zwave.. and be prepare to listen to big $$ numbers …

or just change the light bulbs to one which can be controlled via zwave or other HA technologies.
