Needed this a year ago..I bought 2 ise mizu hibachi grills and happy with that.
And a separate butane camp grill for hotpot
    https://www.harveynorman.com.au/ise-mizu-konro-hibachi-grill…

    • The price is excellent, though the item isn’t essential at this stage.

    • +6

The Mizu is a great setup for small tabletop grilling , we actually love that style too.
Ours just serves a different purpose, more for full BBQ experiences (gas + charcoal, bigger groups, outdoor setup).
      Totally different use case 👍

      • We wanted the built in table experience that you are providing with these setups, but we had resorted to the top of table approach as when I was looking I couldn't find something at a reasonable price and hadn't come across your business.
I hope your business goes well. I'm sure there is a great market for this.
I know I was after one

        😂

    • silly Q but how do you heat the food - charcoal for this setup?

      • I heat the charcoal either over the butane or the kamado bbq using firestarters on the inner bowl
Once it's lit up I put it back on the ceramic bowl.

    • Got a link?

Glad you mentioned this. $153 looks good until you hit checkout, shipping to Australia is $531, and that’s before customs, GST, or import duty.
We design ours locally for Aussie standards with exclusive moulds, 304 stainless steel, and dual-fuel gas + charcoal setup.
Big difference between an AliExpress listing and an actual product that lasts.

        • +21

China will make any quality you are prepared to pay for. Made in China does not equal poor quality. You need to evaluate every product on its merits. Things like real 304 stainless is a good start towards quality.

        • +12

iPhones are made in China!! We actually flew to our manufacturer to make sure the standard meets Aussie requirements!

          • +1

@Jono96: Just curious, what exactly is Aussie standards when applied to a stainless steel table?

            • +14

@Fuzor: Good question mate, the table itself doesn’t need an Aussie standard, it’s just good to educate everyone that it’s the same steel used for commercial kitchens. but the butane system does.
Ours includes flame-failure and pressure-release safety features that meet local compliance before it’s cleared for sale here 🇦🇺

        • +6

And to be even more transparent because we really value integrity over shortcuts when it comes to selling a product our landing cost is way higher than the price you’re seeing on Ali express.

  • Is this made in Korea?

    • +13

Designed in Australia to Australian standards made in China :)

        • +11

Fair question, the concept comes from Korean BBQ culture, which is all about gathering and grilling together at the table.
We just made it portable and easier for Aussie homes and outdoors.
Out of respect for the culture, we didn’t play around with the name. we kept it true to what it is 🇰🇷🔥🇦🇺

          • @Jono96: My old profile picture had an Australia flag on fire and they removed it!

        • +13

It must be difficult dealing with you in real life lad lol it’s not that deep. Have you had Korean bbq? If not maybe explore a bit because you sound like you haven’t experienced

  • Cool design @Jono96! Any other payment options available such as Afterpay and PayPal in the works?

    • +5

Thanks mate! 🙏 Afterpay, Klarna and PayPal are both in the works , we’re just finalizing setup with our payment gateway. As we only launched 4 days ago!
Should be live soon to make it a bit easier for everyone,

      • Make sure you follow our insta for an update
        @kbbqplug

  • Can it double as hot pot table too?

    • +3

Yep! It can, it actually comes with a burner grate so you can use it for hot pot or grilling 🔥🍲
A lot of our customers do both!
Check out our Instagram @kbbqplug, we’ve shared heaps of setup ideas there 👌

  • where do people get their kbbq meat from?

    • +19

      In Sydney, check out:
      • GMGP (Greenacre) – huge Korean BBQ selection, marinated meats, side dishes.

      • Kmall (Auburn & Eastwood) – really good quality meats and sauces.

In Melbourne – try Hi Mart (CBD, Box Hill, Glen Waverley) or Korean Mart (Clayton).

In Brisbane – Hana Mart (Sunnybank) and Hi Mart have great options.

In Adelaide – Seoul Mart (Gouger St) or Hi Mart.

In Perth – Hi Mart Myaree and Korean Food Store Canning Vale.

Most of them stock similar Korean BBQ cuts and marinades, or you can order online from Hi Mart or Kmall if your city doesn’t have one nearby

I see you've been asked this before, thanks!

        • +10

          I came prepared 😂❤️

          • +1

@Jono96: In Canberra, we usually go to Bestore in Mitchell. They also have a shop at the Belconnen Markets.

      • where is Hi Mart Myaree? i am local and I've never seen it.

        • My apologies, seoul mart in Victoria park*

      • Seoul mart is great. We also love Kim’s butcher in Winthrop. And the Tokyo wagyu butcher in northbridge. Beats anything you get in the lower end restaurants

FYI there’s now a kmall in Bankstown :)

I buy pork and beef yakiniku strips from Costco and marinade them with bulgogi or galbi sauce. Always works a charm when we hosted.

  • +1

Is there an option for pickup to avoid shipping costs?

    • Unfortunately at this stage, we don’t but working on it very very soon!

  • +4

I like the touch of the chatgpt description but smart enough to manually change the em dash to a regular hyphen. Good luck with your business, product looks cool!

    • +3

Haha don’t expose me like that!! 😂 Appreciate the support though 🙏

If I may suggest something. I hate websites that try to sell something, but don't provide any contact details like physical address and phone number. I would not use such a website for any significant purchase. Contact Us page is just a form where maybe I will get a response and maybe not and it does not say if I will get a copy of my query at all, TOS state that I deal with KBBQPLUG PTY LTD (which does not tell me much) and nothing else. It just feels impersonal and shady.

    • +13

That’s a really fair point, and I’m glad you mentioned it 🙏
We’re only 4 days old and based in Sydney, currently setting up a proper warehouse and phone system so people can contact us or even come meet us.

My name’s Jonathan and my wife’s Heidi, it’s only us running it, chasing our dream ❤️
we’re new to e-commerce and improving every single day.
Appreciate the feedback. it’s honest and helps us build this the right way 💪

  • Are the pictures on the beach the smaller or bigger table?

    • Hey,

That’s our 98cm table which fits in most SUV’s

It fits comfortably in our Model Y if that helps 🫰🏼🙏🏻

      • +6

        …chasing our dream ❤️

Korean BBQ, Model Y, based in Sydney, has a wife… you are living the dream already! 😁

        • +2

          More than I deserve 🙏🏻❤️

          • @Jono96: A bit of a silly question but how many people would sit doably around the 98cm table?

            • +1

@LordPanda: 5 comfortably if you skip leg day.
              4 if you don’t + 1 kid!

  • +3

are you related to these people at all? the website looks quite similar
    https://www.kbbqbros.com/products/kbbqbros-compact-flex-tabl…

    • No, We are not!

We are Aussie based & from Sydney

    • Yeah, those ones are made in Korea. Interestingly, they have room for 4 adults and a kid too. Coincidentally some guy named Jonathan bought one on the 16th July from them. The name, logo and website are other coincidences.

I'm wondering if the owner of that website has a wife named Heidi and a Tesla, because, you know, coincidences!

Jono should tell Jonathan on the other kbbq website that he figured out how to stop the oil spilling off the stainless steel surface by putting micro-grooves across the surface.

Been following you guys pre-launch. How do you guys compare to the now defunct Gachigrill?

    • I’m sorry, we are not familiar with that company!

  • +1

OP we’ll probably go hibachi style to dip our toes in the water but just wanted to say you’re killing it in the comments.

    • ❤️❤️❤️

    • I’m a vego but wanted to say the same thing. 👏🏼 Good luck with the business OP!

    • Not recommended to use this grill while feet are submerged.

  • Also is there a solution for indoor bbq with those exhaust fans

    • I have been thinking about it so much and trying to find a solution, right now we have had indoor bbq with the windows open and a fan, only using the Butane option. But I’m trying to sort of innovate something. I’d love to hear some ideas.

      • +1

I think you would find it's against the law to have charcoal burning indoors in Australia so your only option would be a butane equivalent.

  • OP do you sell or have intention to stock the grill inserts that use both gas and charcoal in the one insert? I've been to some kbbq places that have that where they light the charcoal with the gas and then turn it off, and can turn it back on to heat up if there's more charcoal added.

    • That’s an awesome idea. we’ve actually been discussing something very similar

Right now, we’re focused on keeping the setup super portable and easy to move around, but we’re definitely exploring ways to innovate the dual-fuel system even further.

The good thing is, we already have IP protection over the product here in Australia, so we’ve got room to experiment and make it 100% our own 🔥 Appreciate you bringing this up, love seeing people thinking the same way we are!

  • +8

Just want to say a huge thank you to everyone for the questions and feedback 🙏🏻
We’re really grateful, it means a lot to see people engaging with what we’re building.

We stand by our morals and integrity in everything we do and truly believe we get back what we give to others. It’s just the two of us running this show, and we’re doing our absolute best (and will keep pushing to make it even better).

    Appreciate you all ❤️
    Jonathan & Heidi

  • Received mine this week as part of the pre-order. Quick delivery, well packaged, arrived safely. It’s a solid table and does what it needs to do well.

Have been looking at getting one for years. Sure you can get one off AliExpress, but the shipping kills it from China and you’ll be rolling the dice to see if the butane burner will fit the folding table, and making the sure table is sturdy after the cut out.

These guys ship it with the charcoal top too which is an added bonus. At the end of the day its fairly priced, and great to have someone shipping from AU

    • 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹❤️❤️❤️❤️🫰🏼🫰🏼🫰🏼 please DM us

  • Shipping to WA kills it like always. $200+ for shipping alone

    • WA freight is brutal, even for us. The boxes are nearly 1m x 1m each (and there’s three of them per set), so couriers hit us hard .

We don’t add a cent to shipping, it’s literally what the courier charges us.
We’re working on a WA fulfilment option so you’re not getting punished by distance 🇦🇺🔥

  • i dont need this and dont have space but i want this…

    • Mood 😂🫰🏼

  • This so kills my k bbq plate over the portable burner from Kmart over 10 years ago

    • Sorry not sorry 😂🫰🏼❤️
