The difference is small if you notice at all, depends on what you have been using I guess, if you have been using a 100hz you might notice tiny differences but nothing to go OMG About
Any recommendations on a good TV for AFL and FTA.
Plasma TV is dying, black line down the center alternating with a green larger line that comes and goes.
Went yesterday to see what I could get and was not impressed. On the continues play special blue-ray they were showing, very good picture, but showing AFL or FTA it was below what I could bare to watch. It was shocking.
Starting to think either secondhand Plasma or 50" LCD only.
Anyone got a LCD that shows FTA and sports that is watchable??
It's a good price for what it is and it is 50Hz. I had a 50Hz LCD, but only after a few plasmas and a 100Hz LCD. The difference was very noticeable (and I got rid of it). YMMV.
If I have only had 50Hz TVs and do not mind 50, this is a great bargain. If like me, the first thing you check is the refresh rate, you're better off waiting for something you really want.

Hi Trent, you seem pretty knowledgeable! I'm looking for a good quality full HD TV which is at least 50" and good all round but in particular for video games and sports. I know very little about televisions. Any recommendations in terms of the cheapest I could get that ticks those boxes? =)
The LG6500 for $895 is a bargain, usually $1499 so I would go with that as it's got all the good features. the link is above in comments
