I picked up a gold one of these at Officeworks this afternoon for $645.05 with the price match, a great price. But the Good Guys price itself is still great. Update: Officeworks price is now $679 also so price match reference removed as it is no longer possible.

For your purpose, just buy a 2nd hand samsung galaxy note or ipad 2, you'd save a lot money.
@minicat: I hand-me-downed my iPad 3 (which is still working fine, just a touch slow on some games). Also after salary packaging, there's not a lot of price difference between an iPad and other options.

the GG price is the "bargain" - staticice has cheapest otherwise at 729 (OW is at 737 for comparison)

1) Price match Good Guys price $679 at Apple store. Depends on the sales person you are seeing, they might give you 10% off to beat GG from $739, which means $665.10. Try to convince them you will buy straightaway if they beat GG. I tried this and it worked.
2) If you have AMEX deal $50 cash back over $500, use that becomes $615.10, expired Today
3) Finally, claim TRS if you are traveling. Too bad I'm not

Tried price beat at OW Oxley Qld last night and was told Officeworks does not price match Apple products because they lose money
I called OW Alexandria, they had no stock, but still had the price at $737. They did tell me that the Auburn store might have 2 left. They did but at $679.
