    How does it compare to City Maps 2 Go? I used CM2G will overseas recently. It was serviceable but definitely not flawless. 3/5

      I don't think CM2G does routing offline. This app does.

        Thank duck. I was looking at this deal and thinking it was another CM2G clone that wouldn't help me at all. I was stuck in Geneva and had to 'Baguette' and 'Croissant' my way back to my hotel.

          CM2G saved me in Paris. I could at least see where I was on the map, so slowly maneuvered in the direction I needed to go.
          However, the screen kept going black then slowly refreshing which was really annoying.
          So I too hope this app is better.

      I've stopped using CM2Go since I got this from awhile ago. Interface is much faster and cleaner. Downloads maps by continent rather than city to city.

    Good finding OP
    - normally when apps are released for free I find they build some really nice features on to it and make that under in app purchase option - with this app, I see the routing there, but no voice guidance - maybe they will release voice guidance soon and make that a payable option.

      I'm not too tech savvy, but I think Google Maps needs the internet to load up the maps and directions and everything.

      This app lets you download the map of the actual city and also allows you to use location services (GPS, etc) to perform the same thing…without the use of internet. That means that you've got a portable navigation device that works decently well.

      I haven't tried it myself just as yet, but I plan to walk into Brisbane CBD and try to see if it'll work there.

    Little disappointed with this…

    Why can’t I plan a route from any point on the map?
    You can only plan routes from your current location in the first version of routing. We will add route planning from any point on the map in future releases.
