    • So it's actually $50 off your next booking.

      • +1

no its $50 off your booking & 2 bookings per customer

        • I'm confused. So if I book a hotel for $100 the coupon is applied and I get it for $50?

        • +1

          @dasher86:
As long as its 2 nights or more

        • @easternculture:
          Thank you.
Might be good to add that to description.

        • @dasher86: Yep, here's an example:

          Hotel (1 night)
          2 guests
          $98.40 avg/night
          $98.40

          @dasher86:

looks like it works on 1 night too at some places

        • You're right. The red box 'Take $50 off your next booking' and the above T&C is misleading.

        • I noticed easternculture you chose APK. If you have not chosen standard you should be ok. I was in Phuket in November and stayed at 5 hotels. Solo traveler with 7kg and a motorcycle allowed me to move around. The standard room APK appointed me was the worst I had stayed in. Yes I had a very tiny balcony but my view was of the wall of the building next door which was only a long stretch of my arm Away. That building was as tall and as long as the APK. No sunlight was evident. The glossy humongous rooftop pool is over glorified both online and in their literature. It is tiny. If you have stayed there before and enjoy APK then ignore my comment. If not, please take heed.

Stupid question but I will ask it anyway. Do you have to pay with visa

    • +1

Na just VISA Checkout, you can add a Mastercard to your VISA Checkout.
VISA Checkout is just something like Paypal.

Booked 3 days in Bali for $29.xx with Buffet Breakfast included for 2 ppl.

      • How did you managed to do that? I thought minimum spend was $100 before $50 discount? Unless price is per day? Also which hotel are you staying at if you don't mind me asking? Research after scoring cheap jetstar flights.

    • You don't need to pay with visa, but you need a payment option tied to your Visa Checkout account

I just did it with a MasterCard.

      • My payments are showing as pending even though I got the confirmation by email.
The girl on the phone claimed that's cause I my visa checkout is linked to a MasterCard.

My MasterCard has been debited the following:
        11/12/2014 AUTHORISATION ONLY - A RETAIL M ELBOURNE AU $73.15
        11/12/2014 AUTHORISATION ONLY - A RETAIL M ELBOURNE AU $2.00
11/12/2014 AUTHORISATION ONLY - VISA CHECKOUT F OSTER CITY US $1.21

any idea what is the $2 and $1.21 charges??

    • VISA checkout is more like new paypal

  • +2

There's a typo in the title. It should be: HotelClub $50 off a $100….

  • Limit of 2 promotion coupons per transactor. I found an additional promo code of 5% off for COMEBACK. Expires in 5 days. Any other promo codes available? Also 10% cash back through 'Cash Rewards'. The email that I received said provided that "Your booking is made before 31 December 2014", but the OP has stated by 11:59pm (US Pacific Time) 30 March 2015.

    • I understand it to mean you can use the visa promo code twice - separate transactions. I don't think it means you can stack a second promotion code?

      • Yep you are probably correct. Cannot seem to stack at HotelClub. Sorry.

    • The T&C at the bottom of the page also states

      • Your booking is made before 31 December 2014;
  • Awesome, got a hotel in ACT for $67! Cheapest ever.

    • +3

      Upside: Cheap accommodation
      Downside: In Canberra

  • Any cheap flight specials?

    • +2

Hoping for another $121 Bali flight with jetstar lol

      • Was that return? That's an awesome deal! I just paid $530 return from Sydney to Bali with Virgin. Still pretty happy with that

        • +1

yes , got return flights for 2 $242

  • Do you need to create a visa checkout account first?

    • +6

Are you REALLY asking this question?

      • +3

I spent 20 mins in my phone and a iPad clicking check out with visa checkout and nothing happened, wondering if it's another thing to sign up for or just opens a window for cc details entry.
Jumped on a computer and relised it's just the old v.me that they have re branded. So I got it.
Thanks for the useless reply, it was good u waste ur time for me.

        • I may be dumb but I am doing the exact same thing and I don't get it. someone please explain how to get this promo?

  • so i need to stay at the hotel before 1st april 2015? hmmm need around 10th of april 2015..

  • Wrong topic…

  • +2

If you use a coupon I wouldn't count on getting any Cashback from Cashback Rewards going via other posts on HotelClub.

    • yep.. its on the cah rewards T&C

Cashback will not be paid when used in conjunction with any coupon code.

  • anyone know if hotelclub (paying via visa) charges international transaction fees (if not using something like a 28d mastercard)? i have a feeling it is not australia based, hence will charge this fee (even if paying in AUD). maybe good idea to put this in description too..

    • I've never had an international fee with them.

    • +1

Didn't charge me a fee even when I used an Amex under Visa checkout

      • I meant would your credit card company charge you because it is (perhaps) a foreign company?

        • No. Hotelclub (Orbitz) charge your card in AUD from my experience with them

        • @antt:

Doesn't matter which currency it's charged in.

        • @westical:
My MasterCard has been debited the following:
          11/12/2014 AUTHORISATION ONLY - A RETAIL M ELBOURNE AU $73.15
          11/12/2014 AUTHORISATION ONLY - A RETAIL M ELBOURNE AU $2.00
11/12/2014 AUTHORISATION ONLY - VISA CHECKOUT F OSTER CITY US $1.21

any idea what is the $2 and $1.21 charges??

  • whenever i try to book it goes through the payment page and then comes back with price changed.. anyone else getting that ? http://imgur.com/r61A2wv

Brilliant, got a 4 star hotel in Melbourne CBD for $68. Thanks for the code.

  • I got one in Sydney for this friday night (work christmas party). Actually went down between the clicking 'continue booking' and entering the visa checkout details. cheers OP!

  • Can anybody please recommend a good hotel in either Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast? (not the most expensive hotels of course)

    • +1

I stayed in Chateau beach side in Surfers Paradise during my trip to Gold coast in August. I remember paying around $120 per night for a beach side apartment. It was pretty good value for the location and service. Not sure how much the price would be now.

      • Thanks - however can't find this in the hotelclub website… will look into it again

  • Can you check to see if certain hotels are eligible before booking? Looking for NZ (North Island)…Thanks!

    • +2

Just search on the HotelClub website - if you go through the link above then it will also let you know prior to booking of the room is applicable to the deal.

      • Great. Thanks mate!

  • Promotion does NOT seem to be working for NEW ZEALAND.

  • Good deal but nothing useful for the days I need in feb/March in California (Monterey and santa Monica) :(

  • Please let me ask a silly question - is this code only available for the hotels which say "DISCOUNT CODE ELIGIBLE"?
So I cannot use it for hotels like Capitol Hotel in Sydney?

    • +1

correct. It will have that message under each hotel you can apply the promo code to

  • Thanks Reps….heaps saving for me!
Got a 1 night hotel in Brunei for transit
    Original price: $109
    Now: $59

Luckily my previous booking with hotels.com has free cancellation

  • +1

Going to be booking a few night in Bali, am i correct to assume one visa checkout user can use the promo code twice? So 2 people can book 1 night each twice so total of 4 nights and get $200 off?

    • Wouldn't this mean that you would have to check out and check in each day, as they are separate bookings? I guess you could email them after booking and ask them to merge the bookings.

      • yep have done this before, just call them up and request the same room. Just check before booking they have the room type available for the length of the stay

      • Its usually easier (cheaper) for the hotel to just keep you in the same room.

  • Booked to stay @ east coast Tas… Bargain..

  • hmm…not able to figure out which hotels have promo code applicable

    • hotels with DISCOUNT CODE ELIGIBLE displayed with the price

  • Sunman were you able to book 2 nights at same hotel? You have a good idea there.

    • going to give it a try now
update: the hotel I wanted to book in gili is actually more exp then other websites.

  • Disappointed. No hotels I could find in Surfers early Feb seem to be eligible for this promotion :(

  • Bad luck bout the hotel on Gile, I am looking at Ubud and was waiting to see how you went with double booking, will go ahead and just book 2 nights with $50 off it's still a good deal

  • Got charged a $1.20 fee from "visa checkout foster City ca.." Despite not having made any bookings with hotelclub. Did anyone encounter something similar?

    • Yep. It's just to verify your card. The charge will disappear in a day or 2.

  • Hotel club prices are generally ridiculous compared to their sister companies Cheaptickets and Orbitz

    • Generally yes, but the accommodation I booked last night for a best Western in California was cheapest on hotel club (and not eligible for the $50 off anyway). Cheaper than Orbitz, Expedia etc and even lmtclub

  • Room 1

Thanks a lot for the Coupon, Saved me heaps.

    • Which country is that for? Seems a sizeable discount

  • Anything in Wollongong. I want to take the Mrs there for our honeymoon

    • There are a few on there…or I can rent you my second bedroom for $400 a night. Just keep it down, we have thin walls haha.

  • +3

Don't know if you get 10% cashrewards as well, as their page on hotelclub says: "Cashback will not be paid when used in conjunction with any coupon code. "

    • Good Pickup!

    • Well, I got a tracking number when I used a coupon on photobook Australia.

    • I see the same statement, OP please remove 10% cashrewards

  • RatesToGo and HotelClub use very similar interfaces. Two sides of the same coin?

  • Thanks OP, I got 3 bookings for 1 night each at Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast for only $89 per night which also includes a free $30 food and beverage coupon and free movie and 2x$10 massage vouchers per night.

    • That's damn cheap. Enjoy your holiday man!!

    • A free $30 F&D & free movie & 2X$10 massage PER BOOKING!!!!?????

wow. (if so, the $60 in vouches might cover the full price of the massage).

  • When I search for hotels in Singapore it says eligible to Coupon.
but it doesn't seem that the $50 is getting applied?
when am I supposed to see the $50 off?

    • for some odd reason this only worked after I tried for the 5th time.
Booked 2 nights in Singapore. cheers.

    • It is not uncommon to take one or two days for the bank to complete the payment transaction. It happens with me every time I pay with paypal, sometimes the transaction won't appear on my network for 1 or 2 days.

Regarding the other two charges they are probably preauth amount put on hold by Visa checkout and Hotel club to confirm if you are using a valid payment card. You will get those amounts back in few days.

      • it's been 6 days and still counting for me…

  • I used the voucher for 4 one night bookings in Port Macquarie (Feb/March).
(saved $200). [Each booking has free cancellation].

I suppose VISA launching this new product… they have a big budget.

  • Hotelclub broken?

Reading the T&C, I don't think I have received my 2 $50 promotion coupons yet, as the T&C implies they are personalised per VISA account.

  • I have been through visa checkout 10 time using various hotels. It just diverts me back to first page of hotel listings. "We were unable to complete this booking. Please try again later or select another option."
I need to book a hotel for tomorrow night. any idea? driving me crazy

  • Wonder at what stage of checkout the discount gets applied. I am getting $104 as trip cost and no change after applying the code.

Does it get applied after the final step of clicking Agree and book?

By clicking "Agree and book", you acknowledge that:
You will be charged '$104.00' View Details .
