    For a discontinued item the N54L still seems to be readily available. Did they stockpile them in the Pyramids or something? Where are they all coming from?! Still a great machine but I feel $259 + Postage is a little steep, even with 4Gb RAM!

      This deal better than Shopping Express. They had it for $259 + Postage, but only 2GB of RAM.

      Is the 4GB Ram 1 or 2 sticks?

    I'm pressuming you can't upgrade the CPU of the G8, much like the n40/n54?

    Shame, all I need is a bit of extra CPU grunt from my n40 and it would make me so happy…

      The Gen8 is upgradable, although not a very cheap exercise. There is a number of Xeon CPU's that will run in it if you want the horsepower.

          Pity tho because although it's an excellent unit all the N54L needs is another few percent increase in 'oomph' to make it 'amazing' :(

    Once set up properly, my N54L has been excellent…It seems to require specifics to get the most performance from it though.

    I'm saying- if you need a NAS, and have the info/time to install it, it's a good deal & great NAS.
