which is better to buy, XL or normal?
I think it comes down to portability. If you want it in your pocket go smaller, if you mostly use it at home I see no reason to skip the bigger version - although can someone confirm whether they have upped the resolution on the XL?

If no charger incl I think its the new model. As the old model came with a charger. I heard the sale girl telling a customer that the new one didn't have a charger.
Wish these were for the new 3DS XL (N3DSXL).
Just been to Big W. This is for the new one without a charger. The charger is $13.
Having said that, the lady at Big W said she could do the old one for the same price.
They would not sell me the new at this price, they said it's the old

For those not familiar, there is the NEW Nintendo 3DS (bigger screen) XL and Nintendo 3 DS XL.

Big W has two deals - $198 is 'original' XL. $238 for new + Mario game.I managed to get the New 3DS XL today.
It took some convincing though. The girl at the counter tried to tell me it was the old version of the console but I had the foresight to take a picture of the offer where it says "…the new Nintendo 3DS XL Console + Animal Crossing New Leaf game." just in case they tried to stooge me (http://www.bigw.com.au/AdventCalendar > click on the Dec 20 on the calender and it will say it there - the printed version of the offer doesn't mention 'New' so don't use that).
The manager had to get involved but luckily he conceded they had to honour the deal because it was 'printed'.
Good luck to anyone else trying to get the deal today :)

Good deal if it is a new 3dsxl but the screen just is the only reason I will wait for the real next gen.
