First (and the only important part) that ozbargainers want to know through a post is a very basic question:

    What item ?
    What price ?

Help us with some concrete info and in-turn you will be helped with good sales from this community ;)
    Simple !

    • +2

They've been a member since 2011. They already know that.

      • Nah jv, I had a newish marketing guy in my team post the deal up and he didn't know how to deal with the OzBargainer responses. That's the honest truth. Give me a tick and I'll answer the questions and post more details up - Lucas Ng, head of customer acquisition.

Thanks. Looking like a decent ozbargain post now.

Just a pity it took 7 negs to get it there.

  • +5

    Will Tom be there?

    • I think Tom's still recovering from manually entering 500 customers' details while negotiating with us, Weber and eBay.
      - Lucas Ng, head of customer acquisition.

  • I'm boycotting you guys until you give a voucher or item of symbolic value to penny or that guy

  • +2

    Any tvs?

    • +1

yes, we have a few TV's on sale as well

      • +5

Steady on there Rep. There's no need to get over-enthusiastic with informing us about your "deals".

        • Sure, let's go with the brutally honest approach then:

There's approximately 20 TVs available, most in the 50-60in range.
All TVs have -10% off their marked prices.
There are LG, Sony, Sharp, Panasonic, TCL among the 20.

          Here are two examples:
          Sharp LC60LE940X 60inch Full HD 3D LCD TV: $2,250 (before: $2,500)
          TCL L55F3500FDS 55" 139.7cm 3D Full HD Smart LED LCD TV $809 (before: $899)

Apologies that I don't have any more model numbers but from what I can recognize, none of them are late model and the prices are not as competitive as the discounts in our other categories.
About 6 of them are out-of-box, the rest are still in their boxes although I assume they are unboxed rather than damaged.

I would recommend you don't go to the clearance sale if it is a solely a TV you're after, as the range is small and chances are higher that you'd be disappointed.

  • Had one presale interaction with your customer service. Very rude. couldn't have imagined any better post sales service. Took my money to thegoodguys
will keep away from appliance online for life

    • That is a shame to hear and I apologize on behalf of our team for the rude service.
I'd love to have you talk to our customer experience team about your specific experience.
Our customer experience team is separate to the service team (which most likely took your call) and exist to help resolve negative or poor customer experience.

  • When the recent 20% off eBay deal approached, I checked washing machines on their eBay store to find they wanted $150 delivery although delivery remained free for my area on their own website.

    • +2

You needed to put your postcode for it apply the free delivery.

  • Bloody hell though, it's in Auburn. Good chance you won't make it back alive.

    • Yep, that Parramatta Road is a killer.
Seriously though, one virtue of its location is you can wander around to all the other clearance stores within walking distance - Nike Factory, Puma, Godfreys, Nick Scali etc.

Two months ago the LG BP240 Blu-Ray Player was $83 and is now $99. Did they think we wouldn't notice? This firm had a really good reputation here.

    • Two months ago is a fair amount of time. Prices change and not always for the better. Back in Sept the AUD was near 0.90USD (and higher further back) and lately it's been near 0.82USD. If they've jacked all their prices up in the past three days thats another matter, but an item here or there would be expected especially with a falling dollar.

      • +2

Last week that same model was available on The Good Guys eBay store for $69 before the 20% off.

  • Do a clearance in Melbourne!

I know appliances online have a Melbourne warehouse according to he staff who are nice and call informing me of my deliveries…

    Happy customer here!

    • No clearance store in Melbourne unfortunately, but yes we have warehouses in Melbourne, Syd, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane.
Lucas Ng, head of customer acquisition.

  • +1

This deal is just like the Winning culture, pure shit.

    • -1

      Another happy customer! Oh wai-

If you (or any other OzBargainer) had an unhappy customer experience with us, please let our customer experience team know, they'd be happy to try and sort through your issue with us. Our team is available 24/7, locally based, so please call us on 1300 000 500.
      - Lucas Ng, head of customer acquisition.

      • -1

Lol nice, start of with a sarcastic smart arse remark, then expect us to engage with your team to sort it out. Which moron made you head of customer acquisition anyway? It wasn't that twat John Winning Jr. was it? Better take your "deals" elsewhere buddy, your kind aren't welcome around here.

  • -1

At least mention what discount is offered from its web price?

  • Litmus test: 1. How much is it? Donno 2. Can i buy it now? Nope 3. I am after a TV, can i buy? Nope.

    drum rolls ……SPAM!

  • Some items are more expensive than Harvey Norman next door. Didn't see any bargains.

    • That may be true, but the store was not on sale when you visited.
The sale runs from Friday to Sunday, 12-14 December.
      LN

  • No deal listed - simple

  • This shouldn't be a deal.

  • Having said "Let me know if you have any questions about this clearance sale" the Store Rep has been unhelpful and inattentive, so its a Neg from me. I fully intended purchasing a large washing machine from them in early February, but this discouraging experience, from a firm that had a strong reputation on OzBargain, prompts me to consider alternatives.

    • Apologies PJC, hope that's better.

As mentioned elsewhere, I left it to one of my team to update the advertising of the sale and his experience with how OzBargain works was probably not sufficient. My fault which I intend to correct.

If I can offer any advice, you would probably get a much better price in late January than in early February from our site ;)
