You can pay direct deposit, bpay or cash and eftpos on site.

But yeah most of them have some sort of surcharge these days that chips away at any discount you are offered.

(never got charged a surcharge when you sold out of your lounge room Will :P)

      • Id understand maybe a set price surcharge but % means more expensive products are hit hardest.
and those methods you listed are the worst bpay is ok but still alot of work to simply pay for something.

I agree, its looks like a rort when the same electronic transaction process takes place whether its $10 or $1000, the more you pay the more they take.

I have some items in a cart with them atm and the paypal surcharge is going to add another $10.

But what other PC store is not charging a surcharge?

Just another reason why I spent so much with Amazon using AMEX recently, no surcharge and each of my parcels was over $100 so no shipping as well as being cheaper even with the dollar at 85c.

The drive on offer here is US$359 shipped from Amazon if you use AMEX.

        • @dirtybird: Lay the blame where it belongs, on the banks. Fact is that they show the charges so people can avoid them, this is exceptional service in my eyes. The retailer has to pay the greedy banks those fees.

@Ebany: They're not banks, they're the only ones getting that surcharge and banks generally don't have surcharges that are passed on to customers for payments by fund transfers.

        • @Rutger: The banks & the credit card companies (e.g. Visa, Amex) charge a merchant (e.g. Scorptec) a percentage for certain transactions, those which incur the fee have it passed onto the customer. The difference between a company like Scorptec vs Target is transparency, a trait extremely common with smaller merchants. Just like if you use the Credit function on a Debit Card at DSE it's free, but use it's EFPOS function and you incur a fee.

Scorptec have a posted a good deal, they have been exceptionally clear about charges, and have even offered other payment methods which incur no fees.

    • Direct deposit?
But yeah, that's the worst option AFAIC, and this is the first I've ever heard of a PayPal surcharge.

Beaten… BPay OK I suppose, but you lose all the benefits of paying by CC (even via PP.)

Credit card and or other payment methods surcharges kill the deal. I am not buying from this retailer. I find that shipping charges for NSW are at least $3 high which is a deal killer.

Really a neg because shipping charges are $3 high on a $400+ item?
They offer payment options that don't have fees, but are being clear and upfront on which options do incur fees (which are imposed on them by service providers).
Does it really matter what postage costs? Isn't the tihng that matters the total cost of the item incl post? If it is still cheap, then it's a bargain.
