It is a great price, but I'm just curious as to how much the price on these will drop - since I read a few users commenting on the Logitech wholesaler reshuffle.

  • Wow!!!
$400 @ MSY, and the sky's the limit after that…

Available for delivery: Customer Fulfilment Centre (NSW): 26 units in stock

Delivery = $12.53 to Sydney; $36.28 to Brisbane.

Sadly, OW doesn't appear to stock them…

actually they do, I saw them on clearance at OfficeWorks here in Victoria Park, WA. I think they were about $225, but were down to three, and I heard the staff talking amongst themselves whether to buy them themselves or not.. So I opted not to post. But yeah, you could check local OW's and might get lucky.

      • Worth a look at your local OW then.
They're not listed on the OW website.

As far as I remember, I saw these in Harvey Norman at RRP. Would be good if they'd price beat, but

" To be eligible for Price Promise you must purchase and pay for in full a product from a franchisee. Within thirty (30) days after the date of purchase, you must have found a bona fide advertised price for an identical product (including supplier and model no.) in a daily newspaper or catalogue or on commercial radio or television (photographs will not be accepted) and delivered copies and/or evidence to the franchisee. Application for claims for the Price Promise can only be accepted by the franchisee where you made your purchase. "

  • I ordered one but want to pay by EFT. It says the order is "processing". When will they send me their bank details to pay for the product?

Good review on CNET except for the price back then - A$750 RRP in April 09 - http://www.cnet.com.au/logitech-z-5500-240002660.htm - Tempted but am still trying to check from reviews if it accepts multiple input sources (eg TV, PS3, 360…)

  • Just ordered one set using PayPal - touch wood I'm a lucky one that gets one this time!

    • I don't see PayPal as an option at Check Out / Step 4 / Payment…

  • I just bought a set as well, though I picked up the Altec Lansing VS2421 not that long ago…

  • Thanks for the tip. Just got one simply because I couldn't resist a great deal! :D

Ordered one as well based on the positive reviews all round and great price. Even wife was complaining the old sound system from few years back didn't sound good anymore. Decent shipping rates as well.

I don't need any more speakers but I bought a set anyway. Altho I don't know if it will go thru as I payed with direct deposit via internet banking so they won't receive the money until monday and by that time they wil have none left. Does any1 know if they allocate stock at the time the money is received or is it when the order is made?

  • Placed an order (a while ago) and have confirmation of order (i.e. thanks for ordering with us - order no. is etc) however haven't been guaranteed stock yet. Hopefully get one of the 30 or so units that were available.

    Other great deals available - e.g. Squeezebox Duet @ $199 http://ht.com.au/part/V7349-Logitech-Squeezebox-Duet-Network…
Closest on static ice is $385 at Fluidtek

Yes I received the same email confirming my order. What worries me is at the bottom it says:

    "Clearance Products

Due to the limited stock availability of clearance products, neither placement of an order, nor email confirmation that we have received your order, guarantees fulfillment of that order.

Orders are processed on a first come first served basis and we will be considered to have accepted your order only by delivering the goods. If we cannot accept your order for any reason, we will notify you by email or phone.

If your order is unsuccessful because the stock has been purchased by an order prior to yours, Harris Technology is not required to supply you with any alternative products and has no liability to you whatsoever."

  • Bah:

"Thank you for placing your order (xxxxxxx) with Harris Technology. Regrettably, part # Q5501 Logitech Z-5500 Digital Speakers) was a limited stock item and is now discontinued. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause
Please note if we receive no reply within 7 working days this order will be cancelled."

    I almost thought I had it there… :(

  • Haven't got any bad news yet but I'm expecting that I will….

I placed an order online also. I saw that it was removed and decided to call, got through to their Perth store their 3 hours behind Sydney now. Apparenty some greedy bugger ordered 20+ units… Probably a reseller no doubt :(

I could not find out any more I hope the order bounces!!! Which means I might get one.

Harris technology have some other goods deals. I picked up a squeeze box a couple of weeks ago when they where $299.00 and now there advertising it for $100.00 less now. Always the way… But really good product :)

  • HT's clearance items are a lottery. Couple of times in the past I have ordered online and been let down days later - even after I actually rang up stores to make the order & confirmed that it was in stock at the time I paid via CC…..usually they give you the reason that floor stocks for clearance items are first come first served - which i suspect many goest to employees who secretly snatch up the deals themselve/for friends.

  • My CC seems to have been charged the $199, however no still confirmation on stock. Monday will be an interesting day.

great speakers, had them on my home home theatre pc for a while now with my samsung 46' lcd, FANTASTIC PRICE!

  • My direct debt card was also charged, but I received an email saying they can't fill my order - probably shouldn't have hesitated for 30mins, ah well.

  • Bummer:

"Thank you for placing your order with Harris Technology. Regrettably, part # Q5501 (Logitech Z-5500 Digital Speakers) was a limited stock item and is now discontinued. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but would like to offer you the opportunity to discuss a suitable item to replace the one in question.
Please note if we receive no reply within 7 working days this order will be cancelled."

Too slow!!! Congrats to anyone who got a set.

  • I've been dicked around yet again - just replied to their service manager since I paid by PayPal, so will have to wait for them to cancel the order. Also stated that they could quite easily have 'picked and chosen' who they have sold the remaining lots to - for all any of us know! Must have sold out quickly considering I purchased the item less than 1/2 an hour after the deal was posted here.

Good luck and congrats to any of the people that actually manage to get one for themselves.

  • Those who bougth, would you mind sharing the receipt with us? who knows OW will match it. Thanks.

    • I doubt they will match. OW price match requires in stock and not clearance item.. ^_^

    • It is pointless trying to price match at OW as they have no stock Australia wide. OW had similar prices to the HT offer and they were completely sold out.

  • +1

I just picked up mine today from HT, which I ordered and paid for through the website. While I was at HT, I spoke with one of the sales people and they told me that I should go directly to the store if I see any specials like this because the internet orders are delayed and walk in customers may be sold the stock before they recieve the internet orders.

    • +1

Would you mind sharing the receipt?

  • what a great deal, any idea if any stores might be willing to price match?

  • +1

any mind sharing their receipt, HN are happy to match, thanks

  • +1

Yes, I also missed it for minutes. If anyone could get a receipt, please post it here. THanks !

  • Anyone manage to pricematch it?

  • I've been trying to contact any successful buyer to facilitate me a receipt with $199 to try to match for days. But most of the member of this site cannot be contacted :-(
