Don't do it people, spend a bit more for something other than Kogan.

    • Any reason not to go for this TV?

Have you never seen any feedback about Kogan?

        • I've always heard that their TVs are okay even though they have (profanity) up in other areas. I was asking if there was anything specifically wrong with this TV that you know of

        • No, it's just the vibe of the thing.

And when you can get a Panasonic 50" for $46.00 more from a B&M store why would you bother.
The Sony & Panasonic offers end today.

        • @luke73: 5" more I guess?

@luke73: Best argument ever, "It's just the vibe."

    • Worse than the Seiki from DSE? Price range is about the same.

      • My 55 Seiki is going strong. Although Not my main TV.

  • Average Consumption < 105W
That is crap, my Girlfreinds LG 55" Tv only uses less than 42 Watts most of the time. Most of the time uses 30 Watts on low power setting.I would not touch this "even your Wallet"

What are you basing your girlfriends values on? A power measurement device?

It's very common for large led tvs to have 100+W stated power usage and I wonder if you read your girlfriends tv, you might find the same.

      • -1

A power measurement device, Yes, and also a Watts Clever Meter. And Both Mesured within a 1 Watt of each other.. Mine is used off grid, so I know what I and doing "I think" :)

        • If you thought about what I said, you'd have understood that I'm telling you that you're comparing measured power with the spurious "number from the sky" that is quoted by manufacturer and that if you check your girlfriend's television back, you may find that LG quote a hell of a lot more power than you're measuring on that TV, too. Probably not as much - but I have read a few consumption values lately from the major manufacturers and it is common to quote over 100W for LED backlit televisions.

I too, have had a power meter out and noticed that stated values of power consumption often seem to be much higher than that of the power meter.

IE, it may be illegal or discouraged to quote a low power setting in the specifications of the television, due to it being misleading.

That's all, not implying you're an idiot. Implying you need to compared apples with apples. Stated usage power is not currently measured power. Turn the volume up.. oh look, using more power. Turn the back light up.. more power. Measure the power when it turns on.. more instantaneous power. etc

  • The 54.5" Dick Smith branded one is pretty good. Got that for $537 a few months ago.
