Is a good price but the nozzle sucks

    • Pipette by mouth?

Seriously, who are the 'do not Pipette by mouth' warnings for?

    • "… but the nozzle sucks"

I think you'll find it blows.

  • Product label says Outdoor & Indoor.

Anyone used this before and can comment on its effectiveness?

This stuff is useless against ants. I spray it one day, and the next day ants are already crawling all over it.

    • +2

Didn't work against roaches too… saw them crawling over spot I sprayed the day before.

    • Bugger. I was going to use it in places the Bifenthrin based ant powders can't be used.

  • I have found that during the week after spraying you do find "bodies" around the place outside. Not an instant kill - prolonged but painless Im sure :)

I have only seen Coles and Woolworths selling the ones Made In Australia. If it is Made In South Africa, I have seen Reject Shop selling them for $10 shelf price. I'll be using Reject Shop price as a guide if it is Made In South Africa.

I just bought some yesterday. Have used it in the past and it works when it isn't too old. My old one had an expiry date and when I sprayed it on the letterbox to stop ants it didn't work. Although when I first sprayed when I first bought it, it worked really well. Hopefully my new batch is fresh and works effectively although no use by date on this new one. The nozzle sucks but surprisingly on my new one it worked perfectly. Perhaps they fixed the mechanism?

You can hear the ants laugh as they dance over this stuff here - sadly it appears useless

  • The nozzle is so crap I had to resort to using a chux wipe to apply it.

Saw this at Bunnings at the same price all the time

Yep I bought this the other day at this price from bunnings, normal price. Coles and Woolies are ripping us off on this.

Not the best. Nozzle is useless. Still killing roaches 3 weeks after the fact but useless against ants and already seen 2 spiders.

Out of all the ones ive tried aldi is best but never in stock. I never saw an insect for over 3 months with that one

    • Oh was thinking about the aldi one or this one. Thanks for the tip, Any other takers for Aldi?

      • +3

Aldi (Atlas branded) active constituent is 0.5g/L Bifenthrin.

According to Wikipedia - Bifenthrin is a pyrethroid insecticide used primarily against the red imported fire ant by influencing its nervous system. Its residual half-life in soil is between 7 days and 8 months, depending on the soil type, with a low mobility in most soil types. Bifenthrin has the longest known residual time in soil of insecticides currently on the market.

yeah bifenthrin is the one of the ones the preofessional termite guys use.
          dunno about deltamethrin.
i bought a different brand (Brunnings)becuase it was cheap, that was bifethrin and it seems to work pretty good.

        • Thanks
