I'm amazed JV hasn't replied yet. Normally he's the first one to reply with a response similar to 'How much is this usually?'

The Aldi one is the same size cooking area as the Bunnings one but 27% more expensive. What a bargain. Aldi fanboi army - mobilise and unleash the pos votes.

  • It has always been this price…Wait for a week or two, it will go down 1/2 a price - A trick I used last year and secured one :)

I purchased one of these bbq's about two years ago from Aldi. I usually love Aldi products but this bbq is really average as the hot plate never really gets particularly hot at all. Sold mine on ebay at the same time that like five others were trying also to offload one which sums up how average this bbq is. Would recommend you avoid unless you are really keen for a very cheap and light weight bbq.

  • "Coking Surface 45x35cm", gee that's a fairly decent size space to coke on….

  • Dont buy this!

Spend the $70 on a traditional flat cooktop from Bunnings instead. This kettle design "looks" like it'll work like a Weber Q, but the hot plate on this is very thin and doesnt heat evenly (will burn in the middle of the plate, and not cook at all on the edge).

I bought this exact one 12 months ago, and returned it after 1 use. Terrible.

I'm normally pretty keen on the Aldi special buys when they come out, but this is one of the worst things I've ever bought from Aldi.

Seriously, not worth it… even if you want a cheap BBQ to take camping or something with and then to throw away. It doesnt cook food (which is what you want a BBQ to do!).

Get one of those traditional 3 leg circle bbq's from Bunnings. Thicker (better) plate, and just as portable.

Look at this for $30! http://www.bunnings.com.au/jumbuck-portable-round-hotplate-b…
Will cook FAR better than this Aldi one.

Or if you must spend $70-80, this hot plate http://www.bunnings.com.au/jumbuck-2-burner-flat-top-bbq_p31…

Sorry OP, but negging due to serious issues with this product. I cant stress enough for people to not buy this thing. You WILL be unhappy with your purchase regardless of what you pay for it.
