    • speak for yourself…. they certainly have there place alongside the smaller AA sorts

    • WTF?

    • Bought one just a few days ago. so yeah, speak for yourself

    • I have 2 18650 torches.

  • My only gripe with these LED torches is that you have to do a small hack to disable the modes.

    • Whats the hack you are talking about? I haven't heard about it.

I need to disable the modes on mine. Care to share a link?

I couldn't find a link for you so I made a short tutorial here.

        • Thanks for taking the time to write the tutorial.

I will fire up my soldering iron later on tonight after work and test it out.

          Thanks once again.

  • So you cant use eneloops?

    • no, sorta… some of them come with AAA cages where you can use 3 aaa's in them

        Oh thats a bummer.

        No sale!

    Hi Rep,
Can you do a deal on a torch that takes 2 or more AA batteries?
Most of us have a shit load of Eneloops with nothing to put them in.

    • Thanks for asking. Will do a deal like this in the near future.:)

Come on rep, at least report accurate lumens.

1,200 lumens from at best, a XML2, requires a perfect circuit, highly overdriven led, on a copper star and heatsink and a battery with a hight discharge to cope with the required load to power it and even then, it would not last long due to energy/heat issues.

Oh, I've a few of these, yet a superior host, built by a company called Convoy, with XML2-U2, on a copper heatsink and oversized wiring, beryllium spring with a direct copper ribbon and 16x stacked x4 AMC 7135 380mA putting out a theoretical 5320Mah, yet is a few hundred below that due to parasitic/resistance loss.

In saying that, if you provide accurate information, this potentially could be a bargain and worthy of posting.

    • Exactly what I was thinking.

    • First thing I thought of too, the 16x stacked x4s.

You're putting that electrical engineering degree to good use there Eighty Six. Schooling misleading merchants. Kudos.
