    Only 18/0 stainless steel :(

You would think something that has a RRP of $269 would have 18/10 stainless steel

      can you explain the difference?

      • +4

18/0 stainless steel contains 18% chromium content and 0% percent Nickel content.
This means that they are likely to develop rust spots within a few months of use.

18/10 stainless steel on the other hand is the highest grade available, and is likely to remain rust-free for many many years.

I personally would only ever buy 18/10 cutlery, which is more expensive but can be sometimes found for a similar price.

        • oh glad to know that, thanks. ^_*

how about mini pyrex glass there worth 2.95? is that worth buying?

As mentioned in other posts you really want to get 18/10 stainless steel for cutlery, this stuff s 18/0. If you keep your eye out you should be able to get some for this price I know I have in the past.

  • I've had really bad experiences with Stanley Rogers, I have one of their 18/10 stainless sets and their knives pit and rust to an unacceptable level.

    They have this little citation:

"Dishwasher safe - however, we recommend you dry your knives by hand once your dishwasher’s rinse cycle is complete."

It doesn't work when the knvives are already rusting on cycle completion…

    • Yes. I got a knife set with a block and they're pretty bad. Some so much so they're dangerous. So I gave them to my girlfriend :-)

    at this price!

Forkget it. knI've seen cheaper. Spoon they will drop in price.

    • The comments remind me of the movie "Mystery Men" (Blue Raja and his cutlery jokes)

  • Anyone else getting a notification that the promo code "FREE SHIPPING" is invalid?

Thanks OP for getting my attention, and ezza for clarifying this free ship code :-)

Though I actually did not buy the cutlery set after considering the rusting issue, but did get their Raco 4 egg poacher pan unit (Pan, non stick poaching tray insert and glass lid)

Selling for $29.95 on sale, and had been thinking of getting one of these are our local "Home" store (Selling for about $50 in the Home store sale. they say the RRP is $129… RRP stated in these stores is such a crock, it is almost funny).

As usual, see something on OzBargain, and come away with something else I did not think I was going to buy.. You don't know you need it till you see it on special :-)

        • Has been looking for a good egg poacher! thanks heaps!
