Why would you want to eat with a plastic knife and fork?

You can get a stainless steel travel set for $4 from IKEA.

Or you can just pull some out of your kitchen drawer and wrap them in a tea towel.

    • +2

      Lighter weight for one

    • Because it’s lighter than stainless steel and good for travel.

    • +2

and has a better case which is easier to wash than the ikea travel set

    • +1

Both are bad if you intend on snorting them…

    • It doesn't scratch up plastic containers like a stainless steel set would.

    • +1

Can't take them into a sporting event or plane

  • +1

Thanks Hamza. Good for the work bag.

    • +1

Same, replacing it with a set in my backpack I took from my business class flight with one of the airlines lol

  • +2

Not particularly sturdy, both knife and fork have broken within a couple of years regular use.

  • Back at $4.20?

    • +2

Ah $3.99 is prime only, I didn't see it previously. $3.99 prime, $4.20 without.

  • Call me weird, I like collecting different types of cutlery sets.
Found some really nice ones in Daiso (mind you in Malaysia but haven't checked a local one recently).
Hinged set of fork and spoon in carry case. Fork, spoon and chopstick set which was good.
Might be worth trying a local one and see what you can find.

    • How many sets do you have now?

      • +2

        Not all have cases.
I like the Sea to Summit lightweight camping set, that's great at work. Haven't forked out (pun intended) for the titanium version.
Then got the Muji set in HK.
Then some random street market set.
So around 5 sets in cases and a couple more loose sets.

  • Can I keep this on my hand carry to plane?

    • Try it when you fly to & from U.S next time

    • +1

Should I be ok , I’ve been carrying similar I take from my business class flight for the past 5 years without problems .

I don’t fly to the US so can’t comment on that country but Asia and Europe all good

  • +1

I just went to Kmart and bought 4 forks ($2.50) and a toothbrush container ($1). It's a tight fit to fit one fork in the $1 container, I should have bought the bigger one. But it gets the job done to take to work for lunch.

  • Definitely cheap but being plastic it’s not nice to eat with. I got a stainless steel set which I much prefer

  • Just got this. Don’t buy it. The case doesn't secure properly. cutlery falls out if turned upside down.
