  • Since when is 15-12=2?

    Edit: Beaten!

  • Well detected :S

is it true that MSY is owned by MS Dhoni and he retired recently because he wanted to make sure that all these Microsoft cash back deals went through properly?

Three OzBargain siblings decide to chip in to buy a webcam. The clerk at MSY says the bill is $30, so each sibling pays $10.

Later the clerk realises the bill should only be $25. To rectify this, he attempts to return $5 to the siblings, however he realises he cannot divide the money equally.

As the siblings didn't know the total of the revised bill, the clerk decides to just give each sibling $1 and keep $2 as a tip for himself. Each sibling got $1 back: so now each sibling only paid $9; bringing the total paid to $27. The clerk has $2. And $27 + $2 = $29 so, if the siblings originally handed over $30, what happened to the remaining $1?

    • +3

I believe the math is wrong at the end. Once you have $9 from each sibling at $27, you should be subtracting the $2 the clerk has, not adding it.

what happened to the remaining $1?

We'll get Homicide Forensics right on it mate.

    • +9

      This is clearly flawed.
The clerk at MSY wouldn't bother attempting to return $5.

I still don't know why I upvoted your comment. Nice !

        • +1 for store rep having sense of humour!

The siblings report this to the ACCC, and MSY gets another fine.

PayPal stole it in unexpected fees

    • Pretty sure Abbot stole it

    • Interesting question. Too bad I always forget the logic even though been told many times :(

      • +1

No logic, just misdirection. $27 + $2 = $29, while true, is irrelevant to the scenario, what matters is that $27 = $25 + $2.

  • bought this yesterday for $15…

  • Buy the wireless 800 or price match the wireless 800 desktop at OW to bring it down to $19. $3 after $16 CB

Never mind, either the price went up to $22 or OW made an error with price match. Turns out $6 after CB or $4 after PM and CB at OW.

Why did the OzBargainer take a shower before he stole a 182MB USB stick from MSY?

Because he wanted to make a clean getaway!

    • 182MB?

If the MSY boss was a vampire, where would be deposit the day's takings?

    In a blood bank!!

  • Microsoft keyboard & mouse… for 2 bucks

    Not one positive-voting comment??

    • Most likely because it isn't seen in isolation, but is being compared to other current Microsoft deals under consideration that you only get three cashbacks. It's not something I, personally, would want to spend a claim on.

  • While the retail price at MSY is now $16, the cashback offer is still available for a while yet I believe.
