  • Optus 3g is too slow,4g is ok but not available everywhere.Keep dropping calls on M7 Sydney and picton road. I found Vodafone $50 monthly plan is far better value.I got it at half price in promotion for 6 months($25).Moving back to Telstra network

    • Have you tried getting an extension on that $25 deal "or I'm outa here"?

      • This is my last month, tried once but customer care refused to extend. I will try once more before end of this month. This plan saves me a lot, $5/day international roaming,5 hours international calling etc. If not I have $20 boost sim from previous deal, port it out. They still have deal for first 6 months $35/month .Let me know if you get any success in extending your deal.

        • I'm not on that deal but a friend has the $35 deal. Worse case is port out and back for another 6 months I guess.

    • Really?

Not one person Answered my question, but I see 10 people chose to ignore a take the easy way out…

Well how isn't it? Anything meaningful you'd like to contribute?

Mobile plans are a necessity for most people these days and one that provides good value such as this one are would useful to save money.

    • If someone posted a deal saying that Telstra had a new offer. $1/Month unlimited everything, would you be saying the same thing? No, that's the point.

for those who only need larger amounts of data, say, on weekends:
    + 22 days of MyPrePaid Daily $1.50 / weekday
    + 8 MyPrePaid Daily Plus $2 (for 500 MB, or $4, for 1 GB,)
…gives unlimited SMSs & calls (in AU)

    • = 58 / Mon
      hey, you're right! $49 / Mon IS cheaper…

How much stuffing around to switch between deals?

  • well least going over the data limit is not to bad at $10 per extra 1GB
and can share the data over 5 devices

Optus network is worst to me. Too many black spots, bad indoor penetration. I wonder no signal at South Yarra station (VIC) platforms !

      bad indoor penetration

      That's what she said

Opus $2days is cheaper and over double the data month.

Spewing that the $5/mth sim-only plan is no longer available. I use my work phone 90% of the time and my personal number (Optus) is diverted to it. I'm on a $20/mth plan which is a lot just to keep a number active (and no I'm not churning to another reseller, as this enables my optus home products to get a bundle discount).

  • Thanks! Ill get Vodafone to match this when my contract ends next month.

  • Obscene excess at $60
This is the reason I run Skype on top my 18gb$30 50day legacy Vodafone.
Just the right no. of minutes, HD voice superior faster network etc, etc.

This is an underpowered, uncompetitive solution.

  • Lyca Mobile $30/mo. Unlimited texts & phone calls to landline, mobiles, 1300/1800.
It's on the optus 3g network.

    Downsides
only 2GB of data, although its more than enough for me
    doesn't allow mms or 13**** or 18**** numbers only 1300 1800 numbers
iMessage doesn't activate/work without sending txt messages to some servers in UK. Every other provider seems to allow these except Lyca.

It's not a good service by any means but it is value for money if it suits your needs, i.e. android with wifi at home and work.
