@vgp: Log in to your Cashrewards account, search for the 22% cashback deal for Everyday Market, and click through to the site. Make sure your cart is empty before starting, and don’t use any promo codes or gift cards to avoid disqualification. Then search for the Moto G24 and complete your purchase.

    • But it’s 599 in everyday market

      • +1

From the previous comment about delivery, they want the G24.

It says it’s sold out once I put in my postal code.

    • Yeh, dammit that went quick…

    • Same here.

Also for reference there was no stock when I used the following postcodes 2000,3000,5000,7000

However they currently still have stock available for the 50 Edge Fusion in Forest Blue, Marshmallow Blue and Hot Pink when I enter the postcode 4000.

I didn't check the other phones

      • I was hoping to get a good deal to my kid, he's still using my old poco F1 😅

      • If it's only available in postcode 4000 Brisbane, would officeworks in Sydney price match it?

        • You might get lucky, but Office Works can say no based on location.

  • +4

When will they ever make a 5.x inch phone again. I'm not even 1.5m so my hands are tiny. Really want to upgrade my galaxy a32, it's 3 years old now which in my mind is lifecycle for an android phone https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/716725

    • -1

3 years wow really? If your battery is worn out it's not that hard to replace it, then you can get another few years.

Just watch a YT instructional video on your model.

      • +1

No, my battery is still good. Problem is the phone is unbearably slow now, I don't know if it's vodaphone 4g or the specs but today it took me an unreasonably long time to book an uber while I'm in a rush. Same with making a macca order. Apps are just too sluggish. I'm not a stranger to fixing things, I replaced the cracked screen of my previous phone myself but still had the same problem of apps being too sluggish, therefore I could not continue using it. Probably what I get for buying low end phones. They're snappy in the 1st year but by the 3rd they're just too slow.

        • Yeah same for me using my Galaxy S10E. Even if you do a factory reset and reinstall apps, after a few days, the phone becomes extremely slow again. Its due to the size of modern apps and whatever background resource-hogging software they got in these apps. The phone crawls to a complete standstill depending on the app.

          • +3

@SeanConnery: Nothing to do with apps today. Samsung and other phone companies tank your phone. They want you to buy new ones every few years at least, so updates ruin it. All these companies have been fined millions of dollars for intentionally doing this but they don't care, as those fines means nothing to them. They need actual consequences but governments and judges let them get away with it. They're all slimeballs who will screw us over every chance they get

            • @Water Bearer: Ahh. That makes more sense. Any idea how they are technically doing it? Are they literally just coding the software updates to literally make the phone run slower?

              • +1

@SeanConnery: You could install a custom rom on your S10E. Plenty of instructional videos on YouTube.

        • Probably what I get for buying low end phones. They're snappy in the 1st year but by the 3rd they're just too slow.

Why not buy a brand new high end phone from 2 years ago rather than a new low end phone?

          • @Trishool: No. As per @Water Bearer. The phones are forced into obsolecence, whether that be by updates or after a certain date or something similar. I have 'old' devices that were running fine just turn into dogs without any updating whatsoever. Then there are Android updates that force apps to move past a particular build version with no backward compatibility…list goes on. This Edge 50 fusion is running spectacularly out of the box. Lets see in 2 years how it is running.

            • @gdozbargain:

The phones are forced into obsolecence, whether that be by updates or after a certain date or something similar.

But if you get a 2 year old Samsung or Google phone, you'll still get 5 years of OS and security updates, and they'll likely still handle apps and other things better as they age compared to a low end phone.

        • +1

Same here, ordered Samsung Galaxy A32 in Aug 2022, extremely slow after a couple of years. Won't buy any low end of Samsung anymore.
Replaced it by moto G75 recently.

        • My Oppo is from 2020 and no issues but I clear clutter regularly. Try resetting the phone.

    • So that 7 year major updates is a gimmick right?

      • Pretty much. Only a higher end phone would have enough specs to handle the apps and OS of 7 years later. Security updates are nice though.

        • +2

The A32 only had 2 OS and 4 years of security updates

There are no good 5.X inch phones sold in Australia

      • Razr ultra for fully functional small screen

samsung flip, oppo flip etc.. with limited functionality on smaller screen

Iphone mini, I know it's anti-droid, but helps small hands.

      • i use the galaxy s23 and its 6.1"
just about to upgrade to a galaxy s24 which is 6.2"

but sub 6" phones arent around at a flagship level in oz

        • Razr ultra gets smaller than even 4" i guess

        • flagship phones are targeted at content consumers, so bigger screen as you look at them longer, if you just want to make calls and send texts you probably won’t pay for a flagship phone with a small screen as cheaper small screen phones on the market. work gives us iphone SE as you don’t game or watch movies during work time.

    • +4

yeah I'm getting sick of every phone that has 6.7in and above

    • the small phone thing is an interesting market. apple make small phones so that the thumb can reach any part of the screen, idea being can be used with one hand while on a train or carrying groceries, etc. my personal preference is for the biggest screen i can get as i don’t walk and talk and carry my phone in my bag not pocket.

    • +1

iPhone mini maybe, a bit expensive and they discontinued it due to sluggish sale performance :) But it's god send for small hand + one hand user.

  • Is forest blue also finished in that leather-like back cover?

    • No just normal plastic

  • Edge 50 neo or edge 50 fusion, which is better?
I am yet to colllect my 50 neo from HN sale early this month for $298. Should I cancel Neo and buy this instead?

    • -2

      fusion is better

      • really ?

        isn't neo rrp more tho

    • Lucky I was reading the comments as I didn't notice this was for the Fusion - when did that get an RRP of $599!?

    • +2

Neo is smaller, and the display is higher resolution LTPO screen. The screen is also very slightly curved, so no need to concern about palm rejecion or slippy grip. Will be updated 2 and a half year longer.

The fusion is larger, but with lower resolution and brightness screen. It's also full curved, the same way the Samsung edge series is. With a much larger battery and lower res screen, it definitely last longer.

Personally, I like the Neo much more in every way, except the battery. It's ok for now, just enough for a day, but I'm very concerned about the battery capacity being smaller, making the battery drain a concern in a few years.

      • thanks, but damn it I don't want curved

        • Yeah, that was my deal breaker too.

I've held the neo at Harvey Norman and I knew immediately that I prefer ergonomics on that.

    • curve screen is ass on the fusion you will crack it almost immediately

      • Curve screens are ass, period. I hate it on my Pixel 7 Pro.

  • +5

I think the 50 neo was a better deal with better specs with HN

    • Isn't neo only 8gb ram vs fusion 12gb?

      • +1

HN was 12gb ram i think

      • +1

Yes HN was 12GB ram/256GB storage

  • i have the fusion, very happy with it, bought neo as backup but can’t be bother swapping e.g redo biometrics for apps for the longer updates on the neo. was going to get the pixel9 xl on the last deals but didn’t seem much of an uplift as for me it’s screen size and quality and macro as i wear reading glasses and often use the macro on the phone to read fine print. it’s a lot of phone for the money and if it breaks its throw away vs repair …bluetooth 5.4 would have been nice but next phone i guess.

  • very nice
    but
    my thinkphone is still working.
    eh

  • Edge 50 fusion all colours sold out?

    • Yeh it went pretty quickly

  • Probs don't need AV1 decoding but I'm glad it doesn't have it cause I don't really need a new phone

  • The Fusion 50 is a great buy IMO, not comparing it to the others on offer.

I have one and I love it.

    • I have one also and love it except I cannot get a screen protector and case on at the same time. The curved screen protectors lift when any backing case is added, the case pushes the curved edges up and it then sort of floats in places (top and bottom mostly) which plays havoc with screen usability. It is really annoying. Do you have both, if so which ones did you buy?

  • +1

it s sold out, i was going to buy the edge 50 as a backup phone

  • Which is better, edge 50 Fusion or Edge 50 Neo?

    • +1

fusion MUCH better cpu antutu10 1.1mil vs 670k, Better battery 5000 vs 4300, BUT fusion has curved screen with slightly worse specs

      • So.. depends. Battery life on my Neo is awesome so that's not an issue

  • damn au always has better deals then here in new zealand

    • +2

Yes bigger market. similarly us always has better deals than au.

  • +1

Officeworks don’t price match clearance lines !!! OP

  • Anyone know how that RAM Boost13 works on the Moto G24? It has 4GB RAM, but Moto claims it can bump it to 8GB using storage. Just wondering — does it actually give a tangible boost or is it just marketing talk?

    • I tried that on a different brand and haven't noticed any difference in everyday use. Then I read somewhere is actually bad for the phone and resetted to 4gb

  • Still love redmi and oppo, and x50, but Motorola delivers.

Doesn't Microsoft own them, or is it omg How can I forget Lenovo legion Y90 omg.

Sorry I ment Lenovo owns Motorola I think.

  • Shame the moto Edge 50 Fusion has sold out

  • is it curved edge display and over

  • Sold Out Edge 50 :(
