I could've swown that was $109 last night when I was doing my research! Thanks for the heads-up. Will add to the main post.

I bought one last week, the price has been up and down, they had it on special prior to xmas but I didn't buy one, so was happy when the price was lowered again. Not sure if this is the same as above, mine didn't have an eneloop.

      • The JB site is showing $109. (as with the link MrsKiss posted.)

Can't recommend this mouse enough, so comfortable!

The challenge is finding an Officeworks shop with stock. The Alexandria store (200m up the road from Bing) indicated "limited stock" online but the only one in store was the dummy one glued to the Logitech display.

      • Is $3.95 really worth the hassle of chasing up a pricematch?

It's a great mouse but $139 is BS!! It was under $100 last time I checked and I managed to pick one up from gumtree (brand new) for $40.

    • +2

Its always been around 85$ in MSY.

I remember the good ol Ozbargain days when these were $55-60 delivered (AAE overnight express too!) from LogitechShop during their epic sales. @Bargaincrypt where art thou?

  • What's the deal with the middle scroll/button and people advising the middle click is useless?

    • "The deal"? I don't know. It just works for me. I click the middle button and it works as expected in Chrome, Acrobat etc I haven't installed any Logitech software. Just plug'n'play USB with Win8.1

      • Rightyo. There's user reviews stating the middle click is junk. Could be a bad batch.

        • …and with almost five years of production on this model, I'm guessing there would've been a LOT of batches pumped out of that factory in Suzhou, China.

        • +1

Does anyone that has this mice recently had any issues with the middle/scroll click as mention in this post?
I use it heaps when gaming.

Anyone have a issue hitting the zoom button by mistake when playing games?, as it's very close to back/forward buttons.

And yeah, the smaller & old Vx mice was a awesome unit (maybe the best?), but I broke the bigass wireless dongle :(

          I still have it somewhere.
I should try again with hunting down a replacement dongle.

Don't know to get this or wait til next deal on the G700 game mice. Any opinions about this?
Only looking for wireless, I hate cords.
Very tempted with this deal, as I have issues with my cheap Swann BT mice.

          Thanks OP

Would also be interested in hearing from other heavy users of wheel click/tilt. I've tried five or so different HyperScroll models over the years and the wheel has been a letdown every time in one way or another. Been tempted to try this model as it's been quite a while since the last, but after going through user reviews of the M950 a few weeks ago, it left the impression not to expect any better.

          @Jabba the Hutt:
This mouse is great. I haven't really had any issues with my mouse. I use the middle click often for opening new tabs etc… with no issues. I think the biggest problem I had with my one at home is I dropped it and then the middle click stopped working… The dropped it on another occasion and the forward button (near the thumb) stopped working… But that mouse is still going strong after 4years :)
The one at work is perfectly fine and the middle click is flawless (Also I'm probably less prone to dropping these at work? :P)

          @OrbDaggerZ:
You can remap all the buttons on the mouse to anything you like.

There is option of hyperscroll/normal scrolling (the former has no 'clicks' when scrolling and will rotate freely without resistance) I find that in this mode, the middle button doesn't feel as solid when it is the normal scrolling mode.

But you can remap the buttons so one of the side buttons could become the middle button. I very rarely accidentally press buttons by mistake, if any it would be the button on the far bottom left edge of the mouse where your thumb rests (right handed).

I should also mention that one of the zoom buttons on my mouse has become difficult to press, and I would have sent in for warranty but I don't have a proof of purchase anymore.

The battery last about a week of 10 hr usage / day.

I've had this mouse for 3 years, and would buy it again if it broke 8.5/10*.

*10/10 would be no issues whatsoever. I deducted 1.5 for the zoom button problem I experienced and that the middle button is not as solid as a mouse without different scroll modes. The two different scroll modes are almost worth the trade off however.

        • +1

@OrbDaggerZ: I hit the multitask button all the time by accident and it gets me killed.

        • @NeoM: My one complaint with it is the scroll wheel is very sensitive. I don't use the hyper scroll mode (no clicks when scrolling), but sometimes one click of the wheel scrolls me down about 2 screens.

I don't know what's causing this.. if there is dust caught inside that's affecting the sensitivity of the wheel, or if part of it is chipped or something. It doesn't always happen but it's very annoying when it does, and I can't scroll and instead must use the keyboard to scroll. And sometimes it's very INsensitive, and it scrolls really slow.

    • I've had this mouse for years and didn't realise that I could use the scroll wheel to click on things until I read this…. o.o

      It works haha

If only the Revolution MX was still around

    • +1

The primary use case for the mouse I purchased is for my laptop. The Revolution MX (still in shops in Capitol Square here in Sydney if you want one!) has a large charging cradle and a ridiculously-large USB receiver. The Revo MX is fantastic for desktop use, but it's not so great for carting about. Your mileage may vary.

      • +2

I can't live without my Revolution MX… but I do agree with your comments re the charger and the receiver. :)

        • +1

I can't live without both of mine. Nearly 10 years on and still going strong, apart from one wearing down the grip a lot faster than the other.

        • @c0balt: dat clearomiser collection doe… time to upgrade to a lemo or a goblin maybe?

        • @krisspy:
Never heard of such a thing? Are they kind of like a revolver chamber where flavours can be 'loaded' without having to screw on/off? I've been trying to find such a thing. It would be awesome to be able to switch flavour mid draw.

I also have a few RDA/RDTA, box mods and ego style batteries off camera, and I like to be able to chop and change between them.

        • @c0balt:
How have you kept them usable, I have two, one middle button doesn't scroll to well and the other has a wobbly laser (so now have to resort to an m950/g700s).

        • +1

          @magoo:

I've never had a problem with them, so I haven't had to do anything. The mouse feet are pretty worn, but using decent mouse pads the last few years completely negates that. They still have a bit of tread left.

With the wobbly laser, I find every now and then I get that problem - but that it's due to a tiny microscopic hair of carpet (dust) that has made its way right up in there and using tweezers to pull it out has always fixed that.

Have you tried using the mouse with other computers? Very rarely I have found that the drivers can lock up and prevent the mouse wheel from scrolling/changing scroll modes. Maybe try downloading the 'uberoptions' 3rd party drivers and seeing if the options in the GUI can free up the scroll wheel and middle mouse button.

They don't hold charge like they used to, so every 2 days of medium use (or one full day of use ~18 hours) the light will flash red opposed to the 4-6 days that they used to at the start. But that's the charge they have held the last few years so I think they have reached their low point before they finally die (can buy replacement batteries, but the installation is a bit of a pain).

They are pretty rugged mice, I took one with me to Thailand for 6 months where it was used every day in sweltering heat a few years back.

I use them for both gaming and productivity where I need the additional buttons, I would take them to the office and back as the Apple mice they have there are some of the worst ever make.

I'm no light user, I would average at least 5 hours a day with a mouse in my hand. I'm still waiting for a true successor to them before buying a new mouse, but I haven't come across something out there has the build quality, functionality and ergonomics that the MX has.

        • @c0balt: Glad I'm not the only one who's in love with the Revolution MX. Mine is 8 years old and still going. I picked up a used Bluetooth one a while back so I alternate between them when the battery runs flat.

For me, it's the auto-switching microgear that does it for me. I can fly around my editing timelines and long webpages or lists just by spinning quickly. I wonder why logitech stopped making them.

        • +1

          @eug:

Doesn't the mouse in this deal have the same scroll wheel? I thought that's what the hyper scroll feature is? If not, then I would think that Logitech just didn't want to pay for the materials, it's a pretty complex mechanism with relay switches and ratchets. But then why is this mouse still so expensive? I paid around this price for the MX Revolution at MSY when they were just released.

I think everyone who used an MX Revolution fell for it. It's just such an almost perfect mouse for most applications. For me it was the performance of a wired mouse in a wireless package and that the ergonomics are perfect for my hand - everything else was icing on the cake (but icing I have come to need).

If all Logitech did was re-release the MX Revolution but with better OSX drivers, and instead of the charging cradle, made a cable so that it can still be used while charging then I would buy it if it was under $100 (on sale of course).

Until then I just hope that my MX's don't die on me. I'm prepared to buy a set of new mouse feet and batteries if I need to, but not much else.

Doesn't the mouse in this deal have the same scroll wheel? I thought that's what the hyper scroll feature is?

It looks the same, but they took out the automatic-switching bit. You have to press the mechanical button underneath it to switch between the two modes.
          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpUswmpjuqc&feature=player_d…

The newer mechanism would be cheaper to make as it's just mechanical.

        • @eug:

That's not that bad, I could live with that. It's not as good as having an auto switch but it's still better than a normal scroll wheel.

  • +1

I've used this mouse for over a year and couldn't recommend it enough either. That is a good price! The laser even works on clear glass and the infinity scroll is amazing.

    • But tends to fail over a white piece of sheet.

  • +2

Best mouse ever, had mine close to 5 years now. 3+ weeks battery life, infinite scroll, works on ANY surface except white surfaces.

    • +1

I have the M950 (without the T). Bought it for $50 years ago from Logitechshop, so I'm a bit surprised that $79 is considered a bargain all these years later, unless the T model does something dramatic.

It's a decent mouse, as long as the receiver is in front of it, and not connected to the back of your case.

      • I think the T is by name only. Might want to change your unifying receiver, my unit penetrates 2 walls and a 2nd floor and doesn't skip or stutter.

        • It's the one that came with the unit. Is it defective, or did they release a new model receiver?

BTW, I never get more than 1 week of battery life.

What batteries are you using, and do you switch the mouse off whenever you're not using it?

How do you connect your upstairs PC to the screen?

        • @lostn:
AFAIK All unifying receivers work on most if not all products that are labeled unifying, mine came with the black/orage trim nano receiver.

          Regular eneloops, not extremes.

It's connected to my tablet that travels around the house, i tend to grab it and hear someone downstairs freak out due to a possessed cursor.

      • +1

Bought it for $50 years ago from Logitechshop, so I'm a bit surprised that $79 is considered a bargain all these years later

Was it when the AUD was great?

It's a decent mouse, as long as the receiver is in front of it, and not connected to the back of your case.

An active USB 3.0 port can also interfere with 2.4GHz reception.

        • I also got mine from Logitechshop, but it was $55 (which included free shipping). This was back in 2011. It was a Logitech M950 Performance Mouse (not 950T, I believe).

        • No.. the dollar was worse than it is now. It was definitely before parity. We are talking not long after GFC.

  • Decent, but I got my G700s for about the same price, many months ago, from Amazon.

Too be fair, G700s is a much different mouse. Will have you going through an eneloop extreme in less than a week.

    • Sounds like way, way to much hassle. Why did you put up with that for so long?

      • +1

I bought a G602 recently as could not justify spending more for the m950t or G700s.The battery life of G602 is awesome. Felt it to be heavy though as the m950t and G700s probably is.I therefore use one AAA eneloop in a convertor case instead of using 2 AA batteries. That finally feels light and right !

      • Because it's a good mouse and having to swap the battery every few days is worth it, for it's performance.
I have two high capacity (XX) eneloops (2450mAh), which I rotate between it. When one goes flat, pop it in the charger and put the other in my mouse. It's really no hassle at all.
Would be nice if it had a charging cradle, though.

I can see it being annoying if I were to use it for my laptop, when I was mobile, but I don't. I've got a Logitech Anywhere MX, which I use for my laptop, it's got much better battery life.

    • +1

Currently using a G602, which has lasted over a month with heavy use on performance mode (two Eneloops, somehow longer than Alkaline batteries).

I wonder how the M950T compares. It's certainly far more expensive.

      • g602 has insane stamina with 2 batteries, lack of infinity scroll is a deal breaker though. My m950 will only last about 3-4 weeks without turning it off with roughly 5 hour use a day.

        • I've never really used a mouse with fast scrolling, so I don't really understand the benefits. Heck, I only started using the scrollwheel at all in the last two years. I think the lack of tilt (sideways) scrolling is more annoying, but the rest of the mouse is good enough that I can live with that.

    • I have the G700s as well, the battery performance is making me look for a g602.

      • +1

I bought the G602 a few days ago ($64 MSY). Previously was using the G700 for a number of years (wired due to the appalling battery life). I have the 602 set up with all my button binds for high productivity, and my conclusion is that it is overall better than the G700. Not just battery life wise, but the shape is a little nicer imo. It does take a bit of getting used to with the side buttons being placed differently and needing extra force to actuate. But once you adjust to it, it's all good. There are new muscle memories that need to be learned, and I think that is true of all mice. It's a bit like learning to drive a new car I guess. The only negative for me is that there is no ultra fast scrolling. I increased the sensitivity of the wheel from 3 to 6 to compensate, and it's helping, but still miss the super fast scrolling of the G700 on long documents. This may be correctable with a pagedown bind to one of the side buttons. I should also mention there is no mouse wheel left/right tilt, but the two extra side buttons make up for that imo. There is one other nagging issue though, in games, if you suddenly grab the mouse and lift it, it's easy to accidentally press the G5 side button. However I don't use the G5 button in games so it's a non issue for me, but for someone else who needs to use that button during gaming, it could be an issue.

        • Cheers for the comparison, I was wondering if it would be too much of an adjustment given it's design differs from the M950 & G700. The loss of mouse tilt seems strange, and scrolling is one of the best features if the G700(s) so as usual there are trade offs.
Waiting for Logitech to make my perfect mouse :)

        • I guess it depends how much you mind the battery life on the G700. If it's not a big deal, then you may as well stick with the G700. When I first got the G700 it bothered me a lot, and then I got used to it in corded mode (bought a lighter usb cable for it which helped as well). But when I heard about the G602, it started bothering me again :) So I decided that's it, I'm going wireless and got a wireless keyboard as well.

Also a couple other things I didn't mention…the mouse1 and mouse2 buttons have a shorter throw and are more quiet than on my G700. This may be unit to unit variance, but I did have 2 G700's and both I felt had a bit to much travel in the mouse1/2 buttons. The 602 scrolls better than the G700 in ratchet mode, since it's solid and has no play in it. Finally, the buttons G10 and G11 which sit along the top edge of the mouse1 button require less force to actuate than on the G700. However at first I found them a bit sticky as I drag my index finger off them and back on to mouse1, but as oils from my skin have coated it lightly, they don't stick any more. Oh one more thing, the teflon skates were rough at first, but after about 30 minutes they became smooth and now are actually a bit smoother than my G700.

  • Awesome mouse - got mine from JB under $100 and a year later very happy with it.

This is a great mouse, got mine for $60 back in 2010 to replace the mx revolution. Nearly 5 years on and it's still going strong. Best things about it are: works on glass, rechargeable and can use normal AA too, can charge and use at the same time, unify and nano transceiver. Quite impressive considering to date no other mice come with the same features.

  • +1

I bought one over a year ago (mainly for use on glass) and it's been excellent in that time. I've been waiting for another deal to get my dad one for ages!

One left at jb glen waverley as of this arvo.

    Thanks OP.

  • Love it, had this and the it's similar older top of the line model, brilliant.

Using a G700s if only to have something new now, but go that very cheap at DSE.

  • Damn shame its sold out online, love my MX revolution had it for years but the contacts for charging are wearing out so need a replacement at some point was looking into this one a few weeks back

edit: actually I see its still available at JBhifi, oh well $5 more as I had free delivery coupon from binglee but still good deal thanks OP/

    • +2

With those contact points the trick is to pull them out of the cradle far enough that it becomes hard to fit the mouse into it. Give them a good scrub with a scour brush, and do the same with the contact points on the mouse.

It's a combination of the contact points getting gunked up and losing their springyness to really make a good contact.

Both my MX revolutions had problems with the cradle contacts from day 1, I just do the pull + scour every time it becomes hard to charge (couple of months) and it's working fine.

      • Mine became so bad that I just soldered a small hump onto the contacts. Works great now.

        • +3

The things we do to keep the MX alive so we don't have to downgrade to another mouse!

      • Thanks for the tip, would have been worried scouring, particularly on the mouse would have made it more difficult to charge since youd be scouring away the gold coating which I assume helps with the conduction?

        • Scouring won't remove the coating at all, just the gunk that gets built up on top of it.

      • I used metho and a tissue.

  • Absolutely love this mouse - highly recommend!

  • Had mine for almost 5 years now (bought it when Dell used to had it for $64 delivered), still going strong. Highly recommend it.

Seems like this mouse has caught on some inflation. Rare chance it'd go as low as $64 I think..

  • +2

Got one of these from LogitechShop when they were on sale for $56…!

    Great mouse, BUT….

This mouse suffers from a nasty bug called the "double click bug"… IE. after about 12 months of use you start to get two clicks every time you click once (Google it).

I got mine replaced from Logitech just before the 12 month warranty ran out but unfortunately the brand new replacement started doing the same thing after 6 months. It still sits in the drawer.

Battery only lasts about 1-2 months of general use (compared to my G-series which lasts more than 6 months)..

    • The double-click phenomenon is also my experience (with the M705 model).

More than likely induced by Skyrim wear-and-tear. It was within warranty, however had lost the receipt in a move. Replaced with an identical model as the comfort was so good. Toning down on Skyrim will hopefully increase its lifespan!

    • Try clicking on the end of the mouse buttons. That's fixed the problem for me in the past.

  • Thanks for all the helpful comments & feedback, it's good when this happens instead of getting the usual "go look it up on google" attitude/comments.

I will check this out tomorrow and see if JB knox has any left.

What would be the next/best in line model from this? (wireless only).

Is the Logitech M545 Wireless any good?, its a bit cheaper too.

I still think mouse prices are over priced.

Edit: Maxx Power's comment has got me unsure now.

  • Jb hifi page says $109 again, is the deal over?

    • +2

I think so. They had logitech keyboards on sale last night too, and they've all jumped in price again.

    • +1

It's dead at JB. All good at Bing Lee. In fact, they've now made them available online.

  • One questioin:

Does this mouse support to program macro keys?

  • -1

Damn, this deal is over, and I bloody missed out, was going to buy today.

please mark this deal as expired, as mentioned by kick & lib.

    • Deal is not over. Still available at Bing Lee and BL has now made them available for online ordering at $79!

JB was tacked onto this deal but they've dropped the special. They've been chopped from the deal title accordingly.

      • +1

Sorry my mistake, I'm not really with it at the moment, damn sleep deprivation.

Sorry if I confused anyone about my comment above.

  • Great news about the cheap price of postage, so still a great deal.

How does this compare with the Logitech M545 Wireless, any good?, its a bit cheaper too.

    • +1

Wireless should be fine, plus i really like the unifying option cos i have 3 logitech devices. My note on the m950 is comfort depends on your hand size. Can't comment on the m545 but the m950 is a tad big in terms of hand coverage and also base footprint. Also heavier than most, and therefore bit slow so i have to up the sensitivity a bit (also got a new slick and bigger mousepad). Like others, i wish they brought back the MX Revolution… The size and light weight due to the lithium rechargeable battery was perfect.
