  • what's the catch ?

I can't see how can cover any level of useful detail across all those different subjects in just 4 hours.

is it just a sales pitch to purchase further courses from you ???

    • At least, its free.
I know many "professional agencies" and "consultants" in melbourne just charge 3k to 8k for their so-call professional training programs.
This one is free, u can go if u want.

      • At least, its free.

If it's just a sales pitch, it a waste of time…

charge 3k to 8k for their so-call professional training programs.

        this doesn't look like a training program…

What i am trying to say is at least u can come and attend the workshop. It is 4 hours. And it doesnt cost u anything!

        • @inusure:

And it doesnt cost u anything!

it costs you a trip into the city and your time…

if it's just a sales pitch and not really training, for me, it's not worth going…

        • +1

          @inusure: Time = Money… Nothing is free.

        • @Dealayed: ^^
Man, they spend 4 hours for the workshop and they have to locate some staff for the workshop. Are you saying that they should come to your house and train you?
I think you should at least put yourself on the organizer shoes @.@
Beside, if you want to get a job/skill, dont you think its necessary to spend time( or money like you said) for it?
On top of that, people who havent got a job, they should have some free time to spend ( im not saying that they dont have anything to do)

Anyway, good or bad deal, it depends on whoever needs this workshop.

I guess at the end of the workshop, they will "offer" you some training package with "low price". Is that the catch?

please put MELBOURNE in the title

  • I agree that this is probably a sales gimmick, and not worth it, if your time is scarce.
However, for people who need to accumulate employable skills, Time <> Money. A session like this might offer them an opportunity to take a closer look at opportunities they haven't considered. That said, I wouldn't pay them a cent without some sort of guarantee of paid employment at the end of the course. Even if it was a 6 month internship, for example.
