Hi everyone. We hope your New Year is getting off to a great start! As promised, as a thank you to all of our PSN members, we are happy to announce the details of the 10% PlayStation Store discount.

The discount will be valid from 9.00am GMT on 23rd January until 9.00am GMT on 26th January. Simply use the promotion code for a one-time 10% discount off eligible items in a total cart purchase in PlayStation Store on PS3, PS4 or via store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com.

Some exclusions do apply, including subscriptions for PS Plus, Music Unlimited and rental video content. The code must be redeemed at checkout and your discounted transaction must be completed before 9.00am on 26th January.

Use the discount on hundreds of thousands of items including blockbuster new releases, award winning indie games, game add-ons and season passes, pre orders, and an enormous selection of TV shows and movies to own. You will be able to find the code on PlayStation Store and we’ll also publish them on your local PlayStation Twitter channel.

    Anything worth getting? Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is $14, but I know once I buy it then it will be on PS+ next month.

    My opinion…

    Quite disappointing. When I first heard of this discount I immediately planned on getting a PS+ subscription and a copy of Battlefield Premium which was on sale for $36.95. The email we were told about didn't come through, so I missed out on Battlefield, which I regret, but that didn't bother me too much as I figured the January Sale Part 2 might be decent (wrong), and that I could get a 10% discount off a PS+ subscription - but nope.

    Hopefully there's a Jan sale part 3.

      I know. The 10% will be nowhere near as good as some of the discounts they had on the sale. Was hoping to get Sleeping dogs for under $30 :-(

    A surprise announcement for a 15 for 15' sale would be welcomed right about now otherwise this is barely worth it on the AU store. They have done them the last 4 years but I am guessing they'll conveniently delay that until after the code expires.

    Unapologetic support, absolutely no admission of fault (actually almost impossible to find details of the outage on any Sony site during the outage), they give piss poor "compensation" and then only offer it for 3 days? How is this a bargain at all?

    In before 'but it wasn't Sony's fault'. Well yes it is, they didn't protect their systems and still don't, you just need to see the number of major hacks they've suffered over the last 12 years (40 odd not including the DDoS' etc). I don't go into McDonalds, bite into a burger with a razor blade in it and then not blame McDonalds, they should have better processes to protect against this.

    Only thing I can think of using that 10% disc on is to finally grab that Destiny DLC Expansion Pack. Still have that ill feeling that they are asking for too much regardless. Anyone here picked it up already? Thoughts?

    Be aware that they altered the exclusions after the original post and apparently after Yosh tweeted to use for pre-orders.

    Was going to grab the Witcher Pre-order as it is already 10% off but doesnt seem to apply to preorders.
