    • this or the Voll speakers + Vx1 dac?

      I know 150$ price difference

but one is 5.1 and other is 2.0

just comparing the 2.0 component is the Voll worth more?

and can i buy the z506 just for the sub?

      • +1

Lepai dac is popular and ive read about SMSL SA-36A, i guess same with Topping. As someone who used to have a logitech from 2004 back when they were top of their game and switched to bookshelfs, i would say bookshelfs all the way. They have the bass you looking for, much more sharper, but logitechs will shake the house literally without purpose or artistic merit.

Voll or Microlab 6c are good cheap options. After that it gets tricky once you up the price.

      • I had a 2.1 logitech (2 year)! And now I have the B44 with the VX1 (5-6 months now).

The DAC is awesome! The VX1 combo lacks a bit of bass, however the other spectrum sound really good.

    • Please

Do you buy speakers just because they are $99 or do you actually care what they sound like?

      • +3

Voll is pretty popular, its a replication of Micca brand in US.

      • +2

        Please

I bought a pair because I needed to replace my surrounds and they sound fine. At least what you expect or better coming from a pair of $99 bookshelfs. It's not like they're shit speakers

  • The code doesn't seem to work for M950t. Can anyone else please confirm? Thanks.

    • Yeah the code works on all of them, make sure your not signed in

      • Thanks a lot. Just ordered one.

Props to you for scouring through the DS website looking for deals with their shitty exclusions. I used to do it but really couldn't be bothered anymore!

  • I have a small bed room 2.8m x 3.2m with a Samsung 40" Led TV (UA40H6400 Series 6) and I'm wondering if I could plug these speakers into my TV and have surround sound for games and movies?

The Samsung Speakers are ok but they lack base, and this would give me surround as well.

    • +1

To your TV? Unlikely, as there is no surround decoder in the speakers. Your TV would need to have 5.1 analogue out.
Old DVD players used to do that. These are really meant to connect direct to a PC.

No problem using this for stereo though. Will sound a lot better than the built-in speakers.

  • Anyone tried to price match officeworks?

  • k830 keyboard has been removed =( the one thing i want

      • Yep worked for me, thanks.

Can Officeworks do a price beat on this?

    • +1

      Apply code comes to $68

        • +7

lol yeah you edited your comment after your realised the code made it come down to the price shown, to your other comment, OW Don't usually beat prices that use codes

          @TRENT86: Did i? Prove it.

  • Coupon code "15BRO" is not valid.
Any advice about how to get the deal to work. Thanks

      Logged out?

    • +1

Make sure you are not logged in.

    • Yeah I'm not logged in. I'll try on laptop instead of phone. Thx for the replies.

    • My problem was I actually only added the speakers, so the code didn't work - you have to add another item over $1 then apply the code :)

      • Thanks that worked. I should have actually read the deal lol. Thx.

  • Good deals as always Trent :)

  • Ordered! My 8 year old pair of Logitech x-230 2.1 speakers started dying earlier this week. This will be a great upgrade :D

  • Will have to pass. My old X-530 and X-540 still going strong…

    • can't beat that "matrix" button

      • Except when you hit it by mistake and spend 5 minutes troubleshooting your setup because surround isn't working ;-)

  • Thanks OP. Was looking at getting a reasonably priced good mouse only yesterday but at this price got the logitech mouse m950t. Very happy!

  • Bought the K830, even though I find the idea of a "HTPC" keyboard without dedicated media keys absurd.

Will at least be better than the cheap wireless (full-size) keyboard and mouse combo I'm currently using.

  • Anyone know why we gotta use the code logged out?

I thought this code was limited to 300 uses as well?

    • +2

They say that but it always goes till 11.59pm EST And I don't know why you have to be logged out but has been that way for ages :)

      • Cheers mate. Quickest reply and always posting great deals!

  • Hi guys, i dont know anything about speakers and iam thinking to get one for my self. Just wondering if the logitech z506 is a good option for me? is it hard to set it up?

  • Bought K830 at $95 on ebay yesterday… dam my bad should've checked DSE price 1st.
