As everyone knows, the Club Nintendo store is on its way out, so now is the time to spend those leftover stars!

Something that just popped up was the Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds OST, which looks really awesome.

Description from the site:
Explore the music of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds with this double-CD soundtrack, featuring 89 tracks, plus 16 Milk Bar Musician pieces. The insert includes liner notes from the game’s composer, Ryo Nagamatsu, and 12 score excerpts for you to perform at home.

  • Dang, i'd get this. I'm 550stars short tho :(

    • +5

Check your registered games under the "My Account" section. I had 500+ unclaimed starts from digital downloads.

      • +1

Thanks for reminding me about this. Turns out i had two unregistered free things that were worth 50 stars each. Very happy right now :)

    • 200 short :(

      • buy 1 game :P

        • only get 200 stars per game I think, I had one registration to do for smashbros i bought recently but now still 350 short.
Time to burn the wallet a bit and cash out of nintendo club.

      • +2

That's a nice coincidence. I had enough for the CD, but I've still got an Assassins Creed: Black Flag code. Should get you across the line.

pm me if you want it :)

  • +7

I have enough stars for this, but wondering if anything better will come up later…wish they'd just load everything into the system, so I knew what to spends Stars on now…

    • I'm spending my stars now. This is 3000 stars for other Euro zones, no idea why it's 2000 here. I was deciding between this and the MK8 shirt, but it wasn't in my size (XXL), I also think the soundtrack will have better resale value than a shirt should I not like it/want it.

Nintendo have confirmed they are adding more stuff in February, there are also rumours that most of it will be digital, possibly eShop credits so people can cash out all their stars.

      • +1

When I read digital, I imagine wallpapers and ringtones rather than eShop credit or games.

      • What are your thoughts on these digital items? Has there ever been games you could redeem? I have 4250 stars and leaning towards the soundtrack even tho i don't want it, it is the best item they have.

        • There has never been a digital game you could redeem. The press release indicated there would be more items put on the stars catalogue but nobody knows what they will be.

        • @ChiefAJ: Ah that sucks. As much as I didn't want it, I ended up getting the soundtrack. Digital items don't sound very exciting.

  • +1

Has there been any indication that our stars will roll over to the next rewards system? Don't want to blow them all and then have nothing when they launch a bunch of new cool stuff. Also would kill for game and watch 1 to be reissued.

    • +3

From the FAQ I got in the email from Nintendo:

      Q. What about unused Stars?
      A. Any Stars not usedby September 30th 2015 will be lost.

      • Yeah but you might be able to redeem your stars for the new reward credit

    • here here on the game and watch!

  • Thinking about it, but then what if something else comes out. Wish it was less stars, you would think they would lower the cost for items as it is going out.

    • +3

This is 1000 stars cheaper than other Euro zones, so if you want it, I'd jump on it now before they sell out or increase price. I've never liked much on the Nintendo Club shop, I'm not even a huge fan of Zelda, but this is probably the nicest thing I've seen on there for a while.

      • Still a lot of months left for other items to pop up.

        • Definitely, but rumours suggest it will be digital only items as they try to clear out stock of physical items. I was going to take a risk and wait, but I've seen nothing I've really wanted for the 12 months I've been watching the shop, so thought I'd jump now.

  • +2

I saw this and was happy. Also, its 1000 stars cheaper then EU. Woot.

  • This or the Mario hat… What do you guys think?

    • +2

Mario hats go for $5 on eBay, these are limited

      • True, I was thinking that, but these would be way better quality I'm assuming? But probably not worth the 2500 stars. And probably show it off more than the CD. Although Zelda is pretty awesome and they don't seem to have much Zelda merchandise

  • +1

Unfortunately no where near enough points. Would of loved one. Good find.

  • +2

I have 2000 stars exactly but it keeps telling me I don't have enough. It seems to keep logging me out or something?

EDIT: For whatever reason I was unable to get it to work with Chrome. However it worked fine with IE. shudder.

  • +1

Thanks, I just redeemed one :) I'd love to see a SNES classic controller but I doubt that'll happen again.

    • When was that?

      • +1

        2011.

    • +1

I'd love to see the gold nunchuk come back on any Club Nintendo. The Japanese run didn't last that long and now they're going for ~$150 on eBay.

      • +1

They are??? I've still got mine unopened in it's box somewhere!

        • +1

For a long time I had an ebay saved search running and every one that popped up was from Japan and $100+.

There is one Aussie one on ebay at the moment with the Zelda Ltd Ed (with gold wiimote) currently at ~$180 which almost seems reasonable.

        • @ChiefAJ: That's actually pretty good, but it's an auction with plenty of time left. I'm curious to see how much it ends up selling for.

        • Yep. I just checked then and it's closer to $175. The demand comes from the fact that the gold Wii remote and classic controller were packed in with Skyward Sword and Goldeneye limited editions… but they only made the gold nunchuk available through Club Nintendo, and people want a matching set.

  • I still haven't stopped crying that the mario premium playing cards went OOS the day I finally had enough stars to order them. Curses!

    • +1

I redeemed that last time, but gosh they're not really meant for actual playing. It's much too uncomfortable on the eyes to play actual games with it. It's cool to have as a collector's item tho :/

    • If you still want the premium playing cards and have enough points for this CD I'd be happy to swap you my playing cards for it once you receive it. I'm a sucker for anything Zelda. :)

      • I've got 1000 unregistered stars if thats enough to allow you to buy the soundtrack on your account. I'll pay for registered post to receive the cards of course.

        • Hey mate, I somehow missed this comment until now. Too late now of course, but I appreciate the offer, cheers!

  • How many stars do you get for each game registered?

    • Usually 200

      • +1

You need to buy 10 games to get this free soundtrack? I think it would be cheaper to buy the soundtrack. I don't buy 10 Nintendo games a year. I don't think I'd ever be able to get anything. And I think the points reset each year?

        • points expire 30th September as they're retiring Club Nintendo

        • You don't have to claim the points when you buy the game, the cards do not expire, just the points on the website.

I got like 850 points for registering my 3DS and 250 for registering Ocarina of Time.

Though it expired, hopefully I have enough games to make up 2000 points. :(

You can also claim youtube channel! :D

        • @Sturmeh:

When do product registration cards expire?

Registration cards for Nintendo games expire three and a half years after the product first becomes available at retail.

          https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Support/Website-and-Club-Nintendo…

        • @khepri:

          My bad, you are correct.

        • @Sturmeh: How do you claim the YouTube channel?

    • 200 for a WiiU game, 500 for the console from memory

      • I thought the Wii U console itself was 1000. I know the older consoles are 500 though.

Looks like the Wii U in Australia is also 500.

  • +2

Welp, after much hesitation, I went for it. I should also go and play the game soon…

  • Thanks for this! Got the soundtrack and still have 2000 stars to use. Too bad I'm 250 short of the T-shirt now

  • 1800 stars with 300 expiring at the end of the month.
    :(

    • Same here, might grab fantasy life to get another 200.

  • +1

The Europe Club Nintendo store ships to Australia? Do AU PAL Club Nintendo cards work on the Europe Club Nintendo?

    • +1

They don't, but there's no need for that - Club Nintendo Australia also has this available and for 1000 stars less.

Oh and both Club Nintendo's use the same server even though the rewards and prices may be different.

      • +1

He's probably in the same boat I am; bought shitloads of games from the UK and can't use them.

        • +1

Codes from 3rd Parties such as Ubisoft etc have the scratch off points cards. They usually give 250 points instead of 200 and looks like they could be used in both stores (UK and AU) judging by the info on the insert.

You should give it a try. I know they work on the AU store.

        • @4892: don't think I have any from ubisoft. I only tried MH3 and that's when I found out it didn't work. No biggie, already redeemed my points for a pair of worthless towels.

        • 2K Games' titles work I think. I tried Carnival Wild West 3D (bargain bin title apparently as I got it less than $5) and I got 250 points from the CN card.

  • Damn - 250pts short.
Hopefully stock lasts for another fortnight - LoZ:MM & another download game from my wishlist should get me over the line.

  • If anyone bought a cheap Wii U, DSi, or DSi XL from that Target clearance last year, it comes with a card that has 500 points.

    • I don't think WiiUs come with cards. They auto register when you set them up for the first time - but you can't register two to one account or transfer accounts afaik.

  • 4200 stars down to 2200. Another deal like this and I'll be happy. Hopefully Majora's Mask. :)

    • Get me one. :)

      Haha.

  • also 250 short damn

  • +1

Bought it. Couldn't resist, and I only had 2500 points. It'll go nicely with the Smash Bros soundtrack I'll get whenever they send those out.

  • Got this and the Smash Bros. soundtrack coming to me. Very happy.

  • After blowing my points on other assorted odds-and-ends, have just enough (2050) for this.

  • Can I gift my points? I have 250 i cant redeem

  • 150 stars short! What's the cheapest way to get another game now? My friend says not all eShop games come with a code.

  • 50 points short, how does that even happen ? Oh well.

Will be buying Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and Majora's Mask next month, hopefully they add more stuff or the OST is still available but I doubt it.

  • I've got 20,000 stars and this item still didn't pull me.

    Loved the badges though :D.

    • Hang on - wont your stars expire when it all closes down?
You might aswell spend them on something??

  • Still gutted for missing the Game n Watch a year or 2 back :(
Bought the CD. Would consider a trade with any Oz Bargainers though.. :)

  • +1

I predict a limited edition amiibo may get on there before it closes. Everyone will cry since they can't afford or used their stairs to buy CD's and shoe laces

  • +2

Save your stars and download it from the world wide web, aka internetz.

  • -3

Technically its not an illegal download either since it's not for sale or a retail product lol.

I would have preferred it on an SD card, or 3DS game card that you can play on PC or 3DS with custom 3DS box art. now that'd be worth it.

    • +1

Yes, technically it is illegal. Copyright doesn't exist only for retail products.

    • Copyright exists as soon as an idea is reduced to material form. I.e. as soon as Ryo Nagamatsu recorded each of the tracks. It subsists without any need for registration etc. So yeah, technically it is wholly and obviously a breach of copyright the moment you download a track, and for each track you download.

  • WTF! Bought Ghost Recon Shadow Wars and Goldeneye for $14 at EB Games but the codes have expired! The Nintendo Australia website clearly states that codes are supposed to last 5 years. So pissed!

  • -1

^^ Try them on the UK eshop, guaranteed it'll work, but useless ;).

    • It's okay, I explained my plight to the store staff and they let me swap the cards with some newer ones. Got the soundtrack!

  • I went looking for unregistered games from my collection, but looks like a game I bought from Target someone has claimed the registration card. :(

    • Try retailers that don't put the code inside the game. Or get the game on release day.

  • +2

Omgosh I never registered for the stars before so yesterday I did it for all my games and console and it was totaled at 1950!!!!!

Had to goto Kmart and bought a 3ds game for $4 just so I could get this!!

  • Did it just run out of stock? :(

    • Looks like that's the case.
