    I've got a R9 270X TOXIC and even I wouldn't invest $1200 for a PC with it… lol {sry rep}

I'd say ditch the 1TB HDD and give us a better GPU ! :P

Just checked your website and I can see the Samsung 840 EVO 250GB @ $179,
$25 cheaper than the Corsair Force Series LS 240GB, bundle that instead and provide a better GPU ! ;)

R9 270 is basically a 7870, with a few tweaks here and there. Overall a very 'medium-end' GPU, basically on the cusp of what you'd call good performance with 1080p.

At the very least I'd go with a 280.

  • PCCASEGEAR PREBUIT SYSTEMS ARE MUCH BETTER

Sorry, this is not my idea of a gaming rig.

  • This is a very weak "gaming" rig for the price, I wouldn't recommend anyone buying it.

  • A Umart price parts list comes to $1210 - essentially you are getting a free build service.

Prices from MSY with RAM, SSD and Case swapped to similar or better alternatives as they aren't stocked at MSY.

    $258 Intel Core i5-4590 3.3GHz 6MB
    $128 Gigabyte H97-HD3
    $88 Patriot Signature 8GB Kit (4Gx2) DDR3-1600
    $66 Seagate 3.5" Barracuda 1TB ST1000DM003
$169 Sandisk Extreme PRO SSD 240G SATAIII
$19 LG DVD RW - SATA
    $205 Asus R9270-DC2OC-2GD5 2GB R9 270 PCI-E VGA Card
    $59 Coolermaster NSE-400-KWN2
$82 Corsair VS650 650W Power Supply Units PSU

    Total: $1074 (+$70 assembly)

You can buy the same build at MSY including assembly (with a more appropriate PSU hopefully) for $55 less. Not a deal really.

I would gimp a bit more on the SSD and invest more into the GPU. But this build is a pretty awful "gaming pc" for $1200… No deal.

      • Yeah, I would definitely do a $1200 gaming build differently. Swap for a cheaper motherboard, smaller SSD, smaller and better PSU and there should be enough budget for R9 290.

    $1199 with a 270.. no thanks

  • as above, not a bargain
